Hi, i just got done reading the chosen for school, and it made me think of religion. I'm starting to see why people don't like the jews, but thats horrible!!
After reading the chosen, i see its very wrong to say that one religion is wrong and on is right, i see people trash talking others for what they belive and i think its horrible, i am chirstian, but for some reason i really want to learn more about evalution, i'm not going to be Athiesim (even though theres nothing wrong with athiesim) but i really want to learn about Evalution, can someone tell me the details about this belief? just what happens from the beggining to the end? i'm thinking i might want to have a class like this in collage, but im still christian, i belive that GOD created me and everything around me, and that one day HE will come down and bring all of his children to heaven with him. From now on i choose not to be Desrimaginst others for there beliefs!
Also anyone that says anything rude, i will block you!!!

I am gonna take a swing at this question, and I'm not gonna bash you about your grammar or spelling. Allow me to preface this by saying that I believe in both Evolution and Divinity, and see nothing exclusive about believing in either unless you are closed minded.
Anyway, those of us who believe in Evolution believe that life started out as simple single celled organisms. These organisms were in competition with each other, and mutations that occured over time lead to advantages that may give certain organisms a greater capacity to survive, and therefore pass on more of their genes. Over time, various groups that are isolated from one another grow apart as mutations build up in one gene pool that differentiate it from other gene pools. This leads to the separation of species. All species are evolving at all times, and no species remains unchanged overtime, although some appear to evolve much more slowly than others.
We did not evolve from any of the ape species that we see alive today, as that would require that those species had remained unchanged. Rather, the apes we see today share an ancestor with us. That is to say that modern apes and us are evolved from an earlier common ape.
Let me add that there is nothing contradictory about believing in God and Evolution, unless of course you believe the Bible is meant to be taken literally. To me, I believe evolution is the modern understanding of HOW God created life....

Evolution is a belief based upon empirical evidence, not based upon revelation and tradition.
Also, evolution does not state that a god does not exist or that an ape had a baby and it was human.
These are lies spread by religion to keep believers away from the fact that we are part of the animal kingdom.
Evolution is a solid theory which claims that species have a common ancestor and that the survival rate is hinged on natural selection and descent with modification.
Evolution is the bedrock of all of Biology and the other sciences as well.
For more details of this exciting theory, hit your local book store or library and read up.
Some authors to look for include.....Daniel Dennet and Stephen J. Gould....also Richard Dawkins.
Happy reading!!!

Well the simple way i came to understand evolution is that we were once a small group of animals similar to monkeys, ofcource it goes back a long time ago, and one day a monkey was born that could say walk a little higher than the other monkeys, so all the females of the group saw this monkey as being superior and through our mating habits this one taller monkey became the alpha male and impragnated all the females so that eventually all the monkeys walked taller
Then another day another monkey was born which could use tools, now all the other male monkeys thought, wtf? what a wierd monkey, but all the female monkeys were like, ****, this monkey is the ****, i want to have its baby, and so this one monkey who could use tools passed on his genes which had the potential to use tools, and soon there were lots of tool using monkeys, and those tool using monkeys went on to other monkey tribes and had their way with the women there until all the non tool using monkeys either had to learn to use tools or died out because they werent getting any
Its easy to believe since you only have to look at the mating habits of females today, its the same concept, women will go after the monkeys which will survive the best in their envirnment, thats the basic gist of it

Evolution is the proven theory that we evolved from lesser creatures. It has a lot more proof than the Bible does, and a lot more things are logical and it does make sense. Look it up on the internet, it's easy to find stuff about it. You can believe in God and evolution at the same time, it's not a denial of God existing but a denial that we all came from the same two people. Say-- maybe God created the creature that eventually evolved into human beings, or maybe he created the Big Bang. There are a lot of beliefs out there.
And thank you for being tolerant of other beliefs :)

Evolution is an interesting theory, and has much merit, and is much respected within the scientific community as a process for the creation of the diversity we see in life. The essence of the theory lies with Darwin's ideas on survival of the fittest, that any living creature will either adapt or perish, and may do so based on mutations from the base form of their species. warmth in 6 The spurs are not that great in rebounding averaging purely 3 boards greater in step with sport than the warmth, and the warmth's rebounding has gotten greater powerful with the addition of Chris Anderson. the warmth have the best offensive score interior the nba, and the seventh spot in protection. the warmth will shoot effectively, and that they could unfold the floor greater powerful than particularly much the different team considering that Bosh, Lebron, Chalmers/Cole/Allen/Miller, will all be ready to being threats from long variety. The spurs place self belief in heavy ball flow, and the warmth thrive on steals and rapid-harm opportunities. additionally besides the indisputable fact that many human beings have faith that Tim Duncan will weigh down Chris Bosh, it fairly is purely no longer genuine as Duncan is a slower greater potential forward, on an identical time as Chris Bosh is a rapid potential forward. Chris Bosh's protection is underrated, as he's without doubt one in all of the quickest enormous adult males interior the sport able to shielding %. and roll's comfortably, and he's marvelous at going around monitors. The spurs have the ease interior the learning branch, and that they have got a great 3 factor shelter in Tony Parker. yet this would possibly not give up the warmth.

Basically, evolution is the opposite of creationism (which is what you believe as a Christian).
Evolution says that humans evolved from other species, that evolved from other species, that evolved from other species... etc. You get the idea.
Look up evolution.
You know, the famous picture with the ape that slowly becomes a man? That's kind of the gist of it. It says that we came from monkeys.
Oh, I applaud you for your wanting to expand your knowledge base. It is important that, even if you don't BELIEVE something, you still try to be knowledgeable about it.
Learning about evolution will not "turn" you into an atheist. I will warn you, however, that what you find will greatly contradict what your church teaches. Just remind yourself that you do not have to BELIEVE in evolution in order to UNDERSTAND it.

Blocking? Ooh, so frightened am I...
I could wager that many will pounce upon your gramatical errors and your liberalism. For future reference, it is "The Theory of Evolution" and one can educate one's self quite easily on the subject without a course. College courses are for further insight.
"The Theory of Evolution" is basically this: by a series of mutations within a species, the genetic characteristics within a species can change or even diverge based on which genetic characteristsics a loss in genes has created, due to the change in interaction between nucleotids. And so, the gentic characteristics within a species may equip that species to survive and/or display dominance over similar species within an environment. In simpler terms, Jungle Law: survival of the fittest.
note, a theory is a way to explain (in some cases, supposedly) related observations based on patterning, not necessarily emperical data.

Good for you. Your being very open minded and wanting to learn about anothers beliefs. Taking class in college is great.
Also, go to the library and look up books by/about Charles Darwin or evolution. That's the best way to learn.

Read "The Selfish Gene" and "The Ancestor's Tale" by Richard Dawkins. The dude is a much better read when he sticks to biology - other writers are more fit to rant against religion.
