I heard that girls arent supposed to shave their arms cause then their arms have a weird texture, but I know people that do it anyway, and it seems fine to me.
What are some ideas on this?

I shave my arms during the summer months, b/c I think it looks alot better. There's nothing wrong w/ shaving arms. The hair grows a little thicker and darker, but it's not a big deal. If u've dark hair and u don't want to shave ur arms, then u can bleach them. I've seen ppl do that, and it looks ok. I would rather shave though! U can wax them too but it's painful

There is no real good reason for shaving your arms.

If you are from a ethnic background that has dark hair, you may find that your arm hair LOOKS heavier, but it's as thick as anyone else.

First of all, there is absolutely NO PROOF whatsoever that shaving makes your hair darker or thicker. That is an old wive's tale, and people still believe it. Grow up!!

You can bleach the hair, and make it slightly lighter, but yellow hair on a dark skinned person looks really wierd!! Lighten, don't make it yellow!

If you still feel that you are too hairy, then wax. Yes, it's painful, but so what? It will last a longer time, feels soft as it grows back in (it WILL grow back) but some hairs will not grow back. Some hairs will be finer than before; after doing it a few times, you may find that you actually have less hair and finer hair than earlier.

Someone without any hair on their arms is sort of 'eeew'!

I used to do it, but then I hated how it felt when it started growing back, that scratchy pokey feeling, you know? So after a while I started using my epilator on them which would last a little longer, but would still grow back after a few weeks. After years of worrying about my arm hair, I decided forget this and let it grow back and it did just fine; like not thick or dark or anything. I figure people really aren't going to notice either way, and I don't think they do.

Ive done it from curiousity thou instead of shaving i used depilitories aka hair removing creams like Nair.. As for the hair coming in darker and thicker it all depends on the person.. like i tried shaving my arms once it didnt come in thicker i used the cream it grew back less and thiner.. the only way u are going to have the thicker and darker problem is if your one of those compulsive self absorbed people who shave everyday.. news flash doesnt need to be done every single day well except if you are one of the unlucky few whos hair grows back within hours like an italian friend of mine.. I prefer wax over it all thou my customers love it and so do i doesnt grow back thicker or darker and if your lucky doesnt grow back at all..

What kind of "weird texture"? I say don't do it. If your arm hair is dark, try bleaching it. I know a lot of girls who do that, and it works great. If you shave, you are a slave to it from here on out. BAAAD IDEA

i just finshed going to school for esthetics which in volves learning about skin and ways of hair removal and as far as i know it is not going to hurt you to shave your arms it will however make the hair grow back thicker and courser . if you are that worried about the hair on your arms why not wax them or if you have the money get Lazar hair removal . and no waxing them does not hurt as much as u think if it is done right please don't try and do it your self you might tear your skin have a processional do it .

The reason people say to not have your arms is becuase even though this might not happen at first but it will eventually begin to grow in ery dark and very thick. The more you shave your arms the more hair that grows.

I shave my arms and they are actually really soft.

i just shave with conditioner and use lotion when i get out of the shower.

but if you have arms with light hair i wouldn't think that you would need to go through the trouble.
