I'd be more for employers paying max fines than min. wage... and I don't really care what the ACLU thinks.

The problem is that many jobs already pay more then minimum wage. Even the so called jobs Americans won't do pay more then the minimum. Minimum wage laws haven't kept pace with the cost of living in the US.
Requiring a factory or a construction firm to pay illegals minimum wage will have no impact.

Well, there IS a law like that. The minimum wage laws state nothing about it only applying to legal US workers. The law is supposed to be applied to all workers working in this nation.
The problem? Illegals don't report being underpaid because it alerts the officials to their whereabouts. Since they are here illegally, they are sure to be deported by the US government - since they are the ones that enforce the wage laws.

They are here illegally! They shouldn't have any citizens' rights and it would be proposterous to make laws to protect them when they are breaking our laws. That sounds like an idea the ACLU would think of!

Oi. The law states that the minimum wage applies to all workers. There is no law to change. The reason illegal aliens who are getting less don't complain is because they are afraid of being deported.

There is no law saying that the minimum wage only applies to legal residents. Federal minimum wage (and probably most states' minimum wages as well) apply to all workers.
