I don't believe so . . . . I'm not really sure. It is similar to celery and celery does not!?!?!?

Yes, I do believe so. Rutabagas are a root vegetable. There are 25 calories per 1/2 cup. Zero grams of fat and cholesterol per serving. 15 mg sodium, 5 grams total carbs, 1 gram of fiber, 4 grams sugar and 1 gram protein. Carbs=starch.

No like carrots, turnips and kolrabi, they are more a non starchy veg, but do go well mixed with other veg.

I boil my rutabagas and then mash them with butter, salt and pepper with a touch of brown sugar and a scraping of nutmeg.
