Yes if you are a Turkish citizen you have to.
However, there's a regulation, if you worked for a certain time abroad (i don't know how long,you should ask an embassy for that) you pay a certain amount of money you serve for only 1 month and discharge.

I would think that the army probably applies to any male holding citizenship, however, there is probably certain circumstances that you might give you a pass. I would go to your Turkish embassy in the UK and find out if you need to file certain forms, or what the requirements for not serving are. This way, you will know for certain.

I know Turkish guys when I lived in Germany, who were called up to do their service in Turkey, the only way out for them was to pay for a waiver, otherwise if you dodge it you will face the possibility of being arrested if you ever visit back to Turkey.
I suggest you contact the Turkish Embassy.

Only if you plan on going back to Turkey. Unfortunately your British citizenship will probably not protect you from your duties as a Turkish citizen while you are over there. :-)
