I know that on the day of my exam, i am going to be a nervous wreck ruining my performance altogether. It happens to me all the time, resulting in low scores on my tests. So, all of my studying goes down the drain. Do you know any strageties to help me get through the exam day, without feeling the jitters. Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How you take tests will affect you all through school. It's an artform and requires confidence. There are some tricks that help with tests that are not carefully written such as when you don't know pick the longest answer, or the more specific answer, and if none of that applies pick c. You have to play a head game with yourself. Instead of thinking I can't do it, think I can do it. I've prepared. I'm smart. I can do this. Don't screw yourself with thinking negative thoughts and when one comes along, throw it out and only dwell on how well you CAN do. It works and will up your grades on every test you take. Just read each question carefully. Think about it but be very careful not to overthink questions. Think of the best answer and then read the answers. Answers can mislead you and make you question what you know. That just means the person writing the test is a good test writer. But since you've already thought about what you think the right answer is it will help you hone in. Then without overthinking it all, pick your right answer. When you're done, and you have time-go over your test and answers to be sure you didn't do something stupid. I mark questions that I reservations about way out in the margins-lightly-so that I can go back and see if I don't come up with a better idea the second time. I can go on and on but the most important thing in life is don't dwell on I can't and get on with what you're doing and it will just be done. Lots of luck. You won't need it. The above idea is good too. It reminds you to stay positive and not waste time on negative.

This is going to sound silly but it works for me. The day or two (or longer - the longer the better) before your test, get in a relaxing place, like before bed, tell yourself to relax as you tap your finger to the side of your head, then relax as much as possible as you coninue to periodically tap. THen on the day of the test tap your head the same way and tell yourself to relax. Anytime you feel like you are starting to stress, tap yourself again. WOrks like a charm for me!!
