I was doing over 10 MPH the speed limit in a 30 MPH limit zone and saw this flash and I automatically assumed that the camera had caught me. Anyway, when they send me the ticket by mail, suppose I just throw the ticket away and if they call me or anything, I just say that I never received the ticket? Or I could just say the mailman probably delivered it to the wrong address?

Would this work? Do I have any other way out of this? This is my first speeding ticket lol so I'm trying to sneak my way out =)

Next notice you get Ladies Man, will probably be at your front door. They have your address & they have heard every excuse. You may as well pay the ticket and do what is right. You don't want to be looking over your shoulder all the time. Always best to fess up & pay. They are doing their job.

I know how you feel. When I got my first ticket, what upset me the most, was that I broke my perfect record.

I did it & I got caught. We where on a trip and I took it as a warning & drove with more awareness. My husband & children where in that car too, not just their Mother.~~~
The law stopping me & may have saved our lives down the road somewhere on that long trip. Blessings to you~~~jill

The mailman excuse does not work in court. They will send you a notice telling how much the fine is or giving you a court date. If you don't pay the fine or show up in court your license will be suspended and a warrant issued for your arrest. If you saw a camera flash you will probably get a ticket for running a red light, not speeding.

It will take a while but what they will do eventually is suspend your license. They don't have to come after you as you will pay extra later. You will find out later when you go to DMV and try to renew anything. Then your ticket will be more and you will have to pay reinstatement fees. Or say 2 years from now you get pulled over (happened to me) and you are informed that your license is suspended. Then you get a driving on suspended which can be expensive and is a whole lot of points. Points drop off over time...... after you pay. This can effect your insurance (what? after so long?). Just pay the stupid ticket now or sport out a couple hundred later.

that question, "do I have any other way out of this"

entails that you actually believe that throwing the ticket away or lying to the police will work. . . how many people do you think have tried that before you -- surely, you're not THE trail-blazer in this matter.

How do you get out of it?

Pay the ticket.

(next time, you'll know not to speed there).

I wouldn't advise it. The penalty for not paying is much worse than just getting it over with. The court tends to frown on people who fail to pay tickets and can issue a warrant for your arrest.

Listen for: "Knock knock". That will be an officer (or two) at your front door to take you to jail for the warrant that was issued by the judge after you failed to pay the ticket or go to court.
Advice: Pay the ticket, learn from it, slow down!!

Suppose you image this: You're on your way to visit one of your ladies and you're really anticipating the meeting. You go a Little fast and get pulled over. The cop runs your license and tag and - BAM - you're in jail until court opens in the morning. Some fun, eh?
Pay the ticket.
Slow down.

you will find out the hard way when they suspend your license for failure to appear or worst yet issue a bench warrant for your arrest for failure to appear in court getting a ticket sucks trust me I've had plenty just deal with it sometimes if you go to court the DA will give you a deal and maybe a lesser charge good luck

Your ticket will go to warrant.
You will not be able to renew your driver's license, and you probably will not be able to renew your vehicle registration either.
Additionally, if you are stopped by the Police in the future, you will be taken into custody and your vehicle will be impounded.

No it won't work. You will still be responsible for the ticket and they'll just give you another one.
