We've tried every thing, even throwing him in the swiming pool, Sence he hates water.
._.
We're not cruel or nothing though, we love animals, we just don't like them doing their busness in our house.

Okay fine more information.
And about the pool thing we did it twice and it was at the shallow end, we didn't littereally throw him in eather, we sat him in it, anyway. I think he's about four months now he's a jackrussle chow mix. we've tried pretty much everything, like I said. we bought a kennel today we are trying to kennel train him now. If that doesn't work I found some information on some site after I posted this question.
I really don't like the dog, but the rest of my family does, so I'm doing this for them. He's a meany.

What would you do if you failed to "get it" and someone threw you in the pool? Would it make you learn faster or would it just make you very weary of the person that threw you in the pool and maybe just maybe afraid of water??? When a dog failes to learn something it's because you FAILED to train him in a way he understands. Imagine you go to a foreign country and you don't speak the language and the natives are trying to teach you how to do something and when you didn't get it they threw you in the pool, imagine how you would feel, you'd be scared and confused and afraid to do whatever it was you did again, except you didn't know exactly what it was that you did wrong...Well welcome to your dogs world.

You have to show your dog what pleases you, dogs are people pleasers, all they want to do is make you happy, if you don't show him what makes you happy how is he going to learn? When you take him outside and he poops or pees HAVE A FREAKIN PARTY, praise him and give him treats. This tells him you are happy that he peed or pooped outside. Use a command word when you take him out, use Quick quick or potty time etc. Walk him in a circle constantly until he goes, praise really well and reward. Then take him inside. If you can, confine him to the kitchen area, don't let him have full run of the house, if he's a puppy he cannot be trusted. You didn't say how old he was, puppies can only hold it for one hour. They must be taken out 30 mins after eating, immediately when they wake up and immediately after playing.

If he has an accident in the house, make sure it's cleaned up really well, buy an odor neutralizer found at most Pet Stores like Petsmart so he's not encouraged to go in that area again because he can still smell it. Do NOT PUNISH clean it up and ignore, however, if you catch him in the act of peeing or pooping CLAP your hands together and say outside, immediately take him outside to finish, then praise him and reward with a treat. Eventually he will learn to go outside, but if you haven't been training him correctly and it doesn't sound like you have then you need to learn the correct way to do it cause apparently the way you've been doing it hasn't been working.

What does throwing him in the pool have to do with potty training???

When you potty train. You don't mention the dog's age. . .

Put the dog ON a leash and take him out side and give him a code word - go pee pee, go potty, go poo poo. Walk around with him and WAIT until he goes. Once he goes, praise him. He obviously doesn't know that he is supposed to go outside.

Do this every 1-4 hours depending on the age of the dog. The older the dog, the longer you can wait. And yep, you have to get up in the middle of the night too.

Invest in a crate. When you leave, crate the dog (you will need to crate train him. Many people have asked how to do that so search for a question on crate training). Make sure that the crate isn't too big for him. Big enough to stand and turn around. If it's too big, he will have a potty area and a sleeping area. You just want it to be a sleeping area.

Perform these things for 1 week and you should have a potty trained dog. PAY attention. As he learns he is supposed to go outside he will develop his own way of telling you. I have one dog that whines, another that moves the mini blinds and another that paces. So carefully watch signals. For an entire week you need to go outside WITH him and use the code words.

Clean up all the pee/poo areas in the house using a 1:1 mixture of vinegar and water. Douse or pour vinegar on the areas, dab, douse, and then dab and cover with a towel to let dry. Get all the spots. This will cause the denaturation of the proteins in the urine and make it less likely for him to pee there in the future

It depends on if the og is a puppy or an adult dog you've adopted.
If it's a puppy it's easier. The general rule is to not give the puppy free rein of the house. If we were home in the living room, we would tie her on a leash in the room where she would have limited coverage.
Also right after you feed the dog take it outside and play the wait game until they use the bathroom.
At night or when you're not at home it's best to crate your dog. Dogs are less likely to soil where they sleep. Again if it's a puppy be prepared to take the dog out when it cries, even if it's 3 in the morning. You'll be able to figure out when they need to go outside to use the bathroom versus them wanting to just get out the crate.
The things that don't work is throwing the dog in the water or hitting the dog when they make a mess.

Are you serious? You threw a dog into a swimming pool because YOU can't housebreak it? And you think you aren't cruel? I got news for you and I'm really not trying to be mean about it..BUT when you are training a dog or puppy it's you're mistake when a dog fails to 'get it'. The very best, most experienced professional trainer will tell you that.

If you can't do better than that you need to rehome that dog. Losing your temper and making it the dog's fault for your lack of know how in training is no excuse to abuse it. Or the only other option is to find a professional trainer that will train it start to finish so you won't have to deal with it or bother yourself to learn how.

Throwing the poor dog into the pool isn't going to help at all. One of the The best ways to train any animal to not pee/poo on the carpet is everytime they do poo on the carpet, spray them with a little water bottle sprayer (Not in the eye though or face! That will also make the situation worse !) and try to get them to poo outside backyard on the grass by opening the backyard door and try to get them to go out on their own. If they don't go outside, figure out why and try to solve it. Is it because they are unfamiliar and uncomfortable with it? Does the bird bath scare them?
And everytime they do something good, like not poo on the carpet and they look at the backyard door, let them out to your backyard and when they come back give them their favorite treat. For my dog we used a slice of cheese since my dog would do anything for cheese.
Also, I am not a professional dog person, so go ask someone who specializes in this kind of stuff for more information.

You don't give enough information as to what training techniques you have tried. what the dogs schedule is? Where the dog is kept when you are not constantly watching it, or and where it sleeps.
Throwing a dog in water will do NOTHING to help it learn bowel or bladder control - it is punishment not instruction and punishment is abuse.

you have to be very consistent. start every half hour for a few days taking him out even if he or she does not want to go out then make it every hour and just keep stepping it up every few days and dont forget treats every time they go outside and actually go give them a treat dogs are creatures of habit the treats really gets them to understand
