Homosexuality is an offense against Christian teaching and is also found to be a sin against God in the Old Testament. But these days with Judaism almost anything goes.
With that said is it against Jewish law to be Homosexual?
The reason why I would like to know is because I am writing a blog on "Judaism Exposed: 30 Reasons Why Modern Judaism Isn't The Same Faith That Jesus Practiced And Why The Jews Wanted Jesus Killed."
I am also publishing a little pamphlet for Kids that is the answer to when people say, "well, Jesus was a Jew." Because even though Jesus' flesh was that of a Jew His Mind was not restricted to that of a Jew but His Mind was that of God and the God of the Europeans.
Thanks for your input!!! I Luv Yahoo!!! Have a GREAT day!!!

Jon,
I sure feel sorry for you if you think that people were born just to sin or born just to do wrong, Perhaps you will grow out of that.
Do you think that Hitler was born to kill?

Michael,
You must be crazy because everything you said doesn't make a bit of sense.
If you read the Bible you would understand that homosexual acts are sinful. Did you know that killing is also a sin?
Got Faith?

I agree with BMCR.
Since your only intention is to stir up hate against Jews, as a Jewish lady, I'm not going to give you the answer. I'm don't converse with anti-Semites.

Judaism believe that engaging in an homosexual relationship is wrong, or sinful. However "being homosexual" cannot be a sin because G-d created a person that way. We believe that G-d sends us certain tests and character traits we have to overcome and control. For some people, this is having homosexual tendencies. It's a very difficult test to pass because it implies having total control over one's sexual impulses and even feelings. In other words, a person cannot choose his impulses and desires, but he definitely can choose his actions. Judaism sees homosexuality just as a test to overcome. As I said, it's very difficult because some of the happy blessings most of us take for granted- marriage, children, a family- are either too difficult or impossible to attain for homosexuals within Jewish Law. However, many observant people who've realized they have these tendency have either chosen to form a family (with full knowledge by the wife about it) and control their impulses in the same way heterosexuals control their sexual feelings for others after marriage or remain single and celibate.
Now, I'm simply giving this information to avoid any misunderstandings, but I find your question downright anti-semitic.
Have a GREAT day!!!

Under normal circumstances I'd actually give you the correct answer to your question. However, since you are upfront about your intentions, I do not wish to give you any fodder for what sounds like a modern spin on classical Christian anti semitism. I also find that you also intend to market your ideas to children just a little bit creepy, don't you think?

It sounds to me like you don't really care about real answers, you're looking for something to justify your homophobia and make yourself feel better about it.
We are not born homophobic. As babies, we play together happily, oblivious to each other's sex, skin color, religion or sexual orientation. As we grow up, we are taught homophobia or we learn it from those around us. In some cases, it can also be caused by a traumatic experience in one's life.
As adults, we have the choice to be homophobic or not. We know it's wrong because it leads to harm, violence and even murder against our gay brothers and sisters. We know that Christ told us one of the most important commandments is to treat others as we want to be treated. ["In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets." (Matthew 7:12)] When we engage in behavior which harms others, or leads to harm to others, it is in direct conflict with Christ's commandment. Therefore, homophobia is a sin. Christ did not say we could ignore His commandment when it comes to gay people. If we think we can, it makes Christ a liar.
The good news is that those afflicted with the sin of homophobia can change if they really try. You should repent and ask God for forgiveness instead of letting this sin have power over you. It's just your pride that blinds you to the truth.

The Old Testament is derived from the Jewish scriptures. The Jewish scriptures contain the law, as well as the commandment by God that "homosexuality", specifically, a man lying with a man as with a woman, is an abomination before God. With that in mind, I'd say that for the Jews who follow the writings of their scriptures, then homosexuality is as much an issue for them as it is for Christians.
To be truthful in your blog, you need a whole lot more than what you have asked about here. The people did not want Jesus to be killed. The Romans could have cared less. The Sanhedrin saw Jesus as a trouble maker, and did some arm twisting, and lying, to get Jesus accused of being a problem for Rome, since He called Himself the King of the Jews, which He is. It was a human effort to do exactly what God wanted done for the redemption of man back to God.

You're proven one of two things - or possibly both.
1. You're either extremely ignorant, or
2. You're just a Jew hater, trying to pass on really ignorant propaganda to get others to join you in your sick hatred.
Well, it's up to you. You can choose to curse the Jews and will be cursed yourself by God as a result, or you can choose to bless the Jews and be blessed by God. Your choice. Good luck with that.

You don't understand Judiasm at all. It is not true that anything goes in Judaism. That is true only in the most liberal of denominations, but in the most liberal of Christian denominations that is also true. Orthodox Judiasm forbids homosexuality. Go and learn what you're talking about before you try and teach others.

It is a myth that Christian scriptures condemn homosexual men or women.
Some verses condemn specific homosexual actions, but they were written for heterosexuals who participated in homosexual sex as part of the worship of the fertility goddess Astarte or just to be kinky.
When those books of the bible were being compiled, they had no idea that people could be born gay. Today we know better. At least most of us do.
