A good locksmith can cut a new one, he may even have generic blanks, for special blanks check Ebay.com Ford Mercury and Edsel will fit.

Storage can mean different things, what they call barn fresh or stored in a climate controlled garage is best.

Probably the only way you're going to get one is to take the ignition switch out and take it into a good locksmith. And I mean a locksmith not the local hardware store. They can disassemble the lock mechanism and make a key to fit. It will cost a few bucks but that's about the only way. If you want authentic Ford keys, http://www.texasmustang.com/, has the ford key blanks. They're listed for the Mustangs but Ford's keys were the same shape, for all their various models. 1964,5 & 6 all used the same key shape. They also sell the the entire switch assembly with keys and matching door locks keyed the same as the ignition. The only thing is I don't know if the Lincoln and Mustang used the same switch or not. There's a good possibility it is the same but no garauntees.

Cool car. If I were you I would call a locksmith and have a key made rather than try to hunt one down. I did find a website, and although their ordering info only goes back to 1966, it does have a live chat help line that may be more able to direct you.

Call a mobile locksmith. Thats what tow yards do when they have an auction.

Good luck getting it started. I`m sure the gas has turned to varnish.

contact your local L/M dealer store parts or service department and with the proper ID of you and for the car, they can obtain the key number(s) and cut the key. If this fails, contact an automotive locksmith providing the same information.
