There is no swelling and I have iced it. He cried briefly and has already rubbed his nose. Should I worry about a nose break with a child of this age, without swelling?

Your child DOES have nasal bones at this age. Signs of a nasal fracture (break) are swelling, discoloration, and deformity (does it look different than normal?). Deformity is the major thing with nose breaks... a light nose bleed is probably nothing major to worry about. If he is rubbing his nose without showing signs of pain, he is more than likely fine! Good luck!

the child's nose is mostly cartilage, a bumb to the nose will cause bleeding. Do take notice of any mood or behavior changes. If it starts to bleed again, check with your pediatrician tomorrow.

Nah. If there's no swelling and is rubbing his nose without screaming you're pretty safe. Kids are resilient at this age and are really flexible.

this is too risky a situation to ask online. I would call "Ask a Nurse" or some 800 medical hotline you may be familiar with.
Do something quickly to be sure there's no possible compli..
