Because there is the physical Kingdom that won't be here until Jesus comes back and the spiritual Kingdom that is made up of all of the born again believers in Christ.

Luke 17:20 Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed, 21 nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you."

22 And he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 And they will say to you, 'Look, there!' or 'Look, here!' Do not go out or follow them. 24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.

One: The Visible Church, into which we receive entrance by the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, is called "The Kingdom of God"

Two: The Kingdom of which Jesus speaks is his Body here on earth...and the place we will go after the Final Judgment.

Jesus entered His kingdom when He was raised from the dead. By defeating death, He became Lord of all. By defeating sin, He became Lord over Satan.

He, Jesus, will enter into His earthly kingdom following the tribulation, and the forthcoming battle of Armeggedon. He will rule the planet for 1,000 (thus, it has yet to arrive).

The Holy Spirit who lives in us and comforts and guides us gives us a taste of the kingdom. Our mind-set has changed from the physical world in which we live to the spiritual world in which we were conceived and to which we go.

Anther example of this is the verse, "...a thousand years is a day; a day is a thousand years."
