They raised you and cared for you so that you could get an education. If you failed to use this opportunity to the fullest and are not able to support yourself, it is not their fault. Also - making $60,000 a year in today's world does NOT mean you have money to spare. Chances are it takes all of their income plus some just to keep afloat in today's economy. Give them a break. They are trying to make sure their financial future is secure so that you don't end up taking care of them in their old age. Quit whining and try to do something to better yourself.

They are not selfish. They are trying to help you grow up. For years they have given you money, paid your bills, got you out of financial problems. You just need to grow up. They don't owe you a living. You need to go get a second job if the first one doesn't pay enough. Or you need to quit living beyond your means.

What are you doing to help yourself? Do you work? Are you managing your money wisely?

What have they done to help you in the past?

Have you wasted the money that they have given you before?

How old are you? Did they pay for your college? Do you have younger brothers and sisters at home that they are responsible for?

I'm not willing to assume they are selfish until you give more information!

You haven't given us much to go on.

My guess is, they spoiled you as you were growing up and you want to continue being spoiled while they want to wean you off the gravy train.

If you've in poverty, get a job. Get two. Tone down your lifestyle to match your income.
