No... toddlers only imitate what they hear. If they say a word, it's because they've heard it somewhere.

Toddlers minds are exactly like a sponge they absorb all information. It would be most likely that the toddler has heard the word from something/someone other than yourself
i.e.
Television.
Walking down the street (your toddler may have overheard someone saying something)
Radio.
Music.
etc.
If the word is a 'bad' word I would influence your toddler not to use it. By saying "No" or "That's a naughty word". If it is a good word. I would influence your toddler to use it when nessecary, in a sentence.
Good Luck.

Toddlers are like a sponge. Sometimes they just hear a word once, like on a TV show and can say it perfectly. My son was watching Mickey Mouse Playhouse a few months ago and Mickey said the word Telescope and my son kept saying it over and over all day long. They listen to everything around them so it is quite possible that they have heard more than you think.

It's possible, but not likely since speech is learned through imitation.

yes because when the baby is in the mothers womb the baby can hear words that have been spoken while he or she is still in there.
