Yes, He is referring to the phyisical union of a man and a woman in marriage. Evidently in the resurrected glorified body we will not be subject to sexual passion, just as we will never hunger or thirst. We will have higher, nobler affections than these.

The sons of this age are in contrast to the sons of light in Luke 20:36
The son of this age are those that are the unsaved ones. The sons of the light are the saved ones. Today the sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. Right now we are in the age of Grace and of the Church, but the next age is that of the Kingdom ( Luke 13:28-29 and 22:18) and the resurrection of life.( John 5:29, Luke 14:14 and Rev 20:4,6) these are the eternal blessings and enjoyment in the eternal life for the believers who are counted worthy ( Luke 18:29-30, Matt 19:28-29)
In this age we are all concerned in marriage and giving in to marriage.. of eating and drinking. In the coming age that will not be the concern. For this age we marry for the sake of our marriage being a means for God to move and carry out His plan. In the coming age His plan would be fulfilled and we will be His co Kings, ruling with Him for 1000 years during the Millenial Kingdom.
One person referred to Heaven. This " age " the Lord was referring to was not heaven but of the Coming age.. the Age of the Kingdom.
Good thought provoking question

Yeah, he's referring to marriage. He's basically talking about the righteous. Resurrection occurs in Revelations.
34. Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage.
35. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage,
36. and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.

Jesus was answering a question that the Sadducees had asked. The Sadducees were a Jewish sect who did not believe in life after death, i.e. resurrection. They believed in God but thought that when you die that was the end of existence.
And so, thinking they could outsmart Jesus, they asked Him a question about marriage, comparing life here on this Earth to life AFTER death.
Jesus' answer followed the same lines as their question in that He also contrasted THIS life here on Earth (this age) with life AFTER death (that age).
Luke 20:34 Jesus answered and said to them, “The sons of >THIS< age marry and are given in marriage.
This verse is talking about the lives we live right now on Planet Earth pre-resurrection.
Luke 20:35-36 But those who are counted worthy to attain >THAT< age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
This verse is talking about the age TO COME, i.e. after the Resurrection as described in Revelation 21.
In other words, marriage is great for the life we live here on Earth but in the age to come, being the Resurrection, there will no longer be marriage between men and women. There will be no more babies born. In the Resurrection, when this is all over, the full quota of human beings will be reached.
I hope this answers your question!
God bless you!

read all the verse's above; it was a answer to a question about who will be a woman's husband who had several husbands in the after life, there is no marriage in Heaven , yes marry means marriage. here's that scripture in full hope it helps.
29Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. 30The second 31and then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children. 32Finally, the woman died too. 33Now then, at the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?"
34Jesus replied, "The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection.

Your thinking this verse it talking bout this age in the world. I see it as talking about after we die, and are awaiting the resurrection. That is the time we or they will not be able to to marry or be given in marriage, while in spirit awaiting the resurrection.
A word that may have been lost in translation of the Bible is "that" right before world. I provided a link in the source list that inserts the work where Joseph Smith said it should be to correct the verse.
The higher message of the verses is about the glory we will be resurrected to after the final judgment, will we be as the angles, or higher in God's kingdom?

The answer is found in the question that Jesus was answering. They were asking Him, "Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife." (Luke 20:33) He was not saying that if you are married in this life you will not be counted worthy of the next life (I think that is your concern if I understand you correctly). He was saying that although people are married and given in marriage in this life, there is no such thing in the world to come.

Jesus is saying that people who have passed away from this world do not have any need to be married. They are no longer making babies.
Luk 20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
These are the people who are in this present world.

Marriage is suppose to be a prophetic type of Christ and His church. We see the Bride adorned for the Bridegroom at the end of Revelation. Once this prophetic type is fulfilled, there will be no more need for it. Just as Christ fulfilled the prophetic law and it is no longer required for salvation, so too marriage will be done away with in time.
