The Hebrew term ’emeth′, often rendered “truth,” may designate that which is firm, trustworthy, stable, faithful, true, or established as fact. (Ex 18:21; 34:6; De 13:14; 17:4; 22:20; Jos 2:12; 2Ch 18:15; 31:20; Ne 7:2; 9:33; Es 9:30; Ps 15:2; Ec 12:10; Jer 9:5) The Greek word a·le′thei·a stands in contrast with falsehood or unrighteousness and denotes that which conforms to fact or to what is right and proper. (Mr 5:33; 12:32; Lu 4:25; Joh 3:21; Ro 2:8; 1Co 13:6; Php 1:18; 2Th 2:10, 12; 1Jo 1:6, 8; 2:4, 21) A number of other original-language expressions can, depending upon the context, also be translated “truth.”

Depending upon who you ask today, the question "What is Truth" will get you very different answers and, perhaps, lead to even more questions. Here are some current thoughts on truth:
There is No Absolute Truth.
But wait a minute! This statement is making an absolute claim to truth. It defeats its own claim.
Truth is Relative.
Does that include the statement that truth is relative? It would have to, making this statement invalid since no claim to truth can be made by this statement, including the claim that truth is relative.
You have Your Truth and I have My Truth.
And if your truth and my truth are in conflict, what do we have? Can there be conflicting truths? If so, then how do you determine what is valid? If my truth is that there is no God, and your truth is that there is a God, does that really effect whether there is a God or not? Saying that we each have our own truth may make us comfortable but we would have to not care about truth to say this, because no matter what my experience or your experience tells us, the truth exists as it is.
Truth is within You.
Seek truth within yourself and you are back to what your experience tells you or to what you want to be the truth. Your perception may affect you and be true to what you want to believe, but it does not affect what the truth really is. Your experience and belief could be telling you that something false is true.
So what is Truth?
If you're tired of wondering or of playing these mind games, consider that maybe truth is not all that complex. Maybe it is something a child can grasp. Maybe truth is a person. The God-Man Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
Will you be like Pilate, who asked "What is truth?" (John 18:38) right after Jesus said to him, "And I came to bring truth to the world. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true," (John 18:37b)?
Or will you be like the Roman officer who saw Jesus die on the cross and said, "Truly, this was the Son of God!" (Mark 15:39)
As Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, " (John 11:25) and "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved; and shall go in and out, and find pasture," (John 10:9).

That which transcends everything and finally remains is Truth. Truth is Eternal. Truth is that which can never be destroyed and beyond the limitations of space and time. One such thing which transcends everything is Love. So Love is Truth.
Everything in the universe is destructible. The one aspect which is not destructible is Soul. All the living and non living things, the seen and and the unseen posses soul. Soul is dormant in the non living things and vibrant in the living beings. Soul is the Supreme Truth.
The universe has sprung up from a single source known as God. God when manifest has two aspects. Seen (Prakriti) and the unseen (Purusha). The five essential elements of Prakriti are Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space (Ether) ie. Physical Aspects. Consciousness is Purusha i.e. Non Physical aspect of things. Everything emanates from a single source known as God. God is the Ultimate Truth.

Argos,
I read the answers you got and they are good ones, but let me add this,
truth is immutable, it never changeds. It is what it is, regardless how one tries to change it. It stands the acid test of trying, proving and hammering to see if it breaks, it will not
truth is not transitory, though truth melds in the flow of history so as to be truth, unerring and unbendable as history changes.
It is worth dying for, it is worth defending in open combat or at the negotiation table.
It is what people seek and then suppress because it is not what they want.
truth is something that none can keep under lock truth will make a righteous man take up stones to fight a tank with machine guns. truth can turn a fearful coward into a raging terror that can not be contained.
truth is a quiet unwavering fact that sets all in accord as one.
Truth is what men suppress,
it does not change
best expressed, if you and I were not here, it would still be the same.

i think one of my favorite authors puts it best:
"Remember that, since Truth is beyond speech, it cannot be communicated. Therefore, in order to avoid folly when reading any holy book, you must not take the literal meaning as the Truth or you will be in danger of falling into the same trap as the fundamentalist. Furthermore, don't trust anyone who claims to know the Truth. Truth is protected from the vulgar because it is written in a language that only the initiated will understand. Become worthy of the Truth and it will find you."

The truth is God exists. Here's proof:
The big bang could not have happened. How do all these little pieces of rock form an entire human race?
Besides, where did these rocks come from? They say they came from gases. Now where did the gases come from?
They say it took millions of years to create our world. Now try this: Shake a box full of rocks and see if in a million years, you've got a little earth in there.

There is no truth that the human mind can comprehend. Now animals just accept what they experience, and that is truth. When you try to describe what you experience, which animals don't, it is no longer truth.

The truth is like a completely naked body.
Very nice to look at in private, but very embarassing in full public view.
