No way I would go drive 2 hours to go to court, just send them a letter and ask.

You must contact the court to find out. Some courts will allow you to send in the ticket with a fine and assign you over the phone to traffic school. Some courts will have a online traffic school.
Other courts will require that you appear in person or by attorney. The traffic school may require you attend in a classroom environment.
Do telephone the court to find out your requirements before the court date.

Yep. If you want to do anything other than plead guilty and send in the fine, you have to go to court. That's why cops target drivers from out of thier county or state. They know the ticket will most likely 'stick'.
