Although groomers do it all the time it's actually not the best thing for them and should only be done if absolutely needed. Animals fur not only protects them from the cold but also from the heat, as wierd as that sounds. They can also get sunburned so definately not good if it goes out doors. Never try to do it yourself if you have never done it. Cats have loose and thin skin. We had to be very careful when we groomed them because their skin can actually get caught up in the clippers! So.... it's not going to kill the cat if it's shaved but it's not really good for it. Hope that helps. Best wishes.

If the burrs can't be picked out carefully, it's easier to just have a groomer or the vet technician shave the areas. It won't hurt and it'll be completely grown back in full length within 2 months.

Yes it is harmful to shave a cat as the cat can become hypothermic without fur and it can really hurt to shave a cat as the cat is going to remove big pieces of your skin while you are trying to shave it. Where did you come up with this dumb idea?

It should only be done by a groomer or vet clinic because a cats skin is thinner and is cut by the clippers more easily, cats are also generally more difficult to trim without cutting even without the thin skin.

First of all, cats should not be allowed outside, which is probably where he/she got the burrs. What are you thinking?

We always used to do lion cuts at the clinic.. HA HA so funny.. If she is indoor then no problem at all.. Outdoor, then becareful of the cold.
