What a lovely question, and yes I have. I love it when I get caught doing something nice to kind of make up for a mis-spent youth! I have met some of the most wonderful people because I emailed them, and also many that emailed me over a cruel response. I moment of kindness is never a waste of time.

When one of my regular contacts dissappears for a while or seems blue I send them an email to make sure they are ok and to send hugs. Sometimes I do it just for the fun of it.
I don't get nearly enough hate mail mind you...I must be doing something wrong...
By the way...where did that Vegemite jar go...I liked it...reminded me to go make a Vegemite sandwich everytime I saw it!!

I have sent a few of those..
Not to balance out the hate but because i felt like sending a nice message to another user... They are not always contacts sometimes I send them to random people I would like to say something nice to...

Not love mail, specifically, but emails commenting on their intelligent and thoughtful answers. And some of them have become friends.
I will, however, take the opportunity to say that, on the whole, I love you people!

I've done it when I know someone is going through a bad patch, but I think that's a lovely idea. I'll have to start doing it for the heck of it or the halibut.
