I'm starting to believe that any mental health problems encountered can be healed through hard work and the healing power of God. I wanted some opinions on this.

Do you think that G-d can give people the brains to be trained in helping people deal with their emotional and health related problems? And also give you the strength within yourself to heal your emotions? I think that they can go hand in hand.
I don't believe that G-d comes down and heals anyone, He does His work through us.

I think you could use a relationship with the divine as an achor to reality. Assuming you don't have a very difficult mental illness. Like using a relationship with the divine to get through some depression. But I don't think it'd do much for anything else. Some mental health habits can be controlled through non-medical ways (ie: a bipolar individual locking off financial means for when s/he becomes manic to prevent costly purchases) but some illnesses do need the medication. At least for now. And medication does be being locked in a hole and forgotten about.

Mental health is just that, how healthy you are mentally. Some people find that in their religion and others find problems in their religion that led to mental health problems.
If you find your mental health has improved through prayer and hard word then that probably is the "medicine" that works the best for you.
I think mental health and any religion can mix well or mix poorly. It depends on the person.

I would agree that most mental health problems have their source in NOT having a right relationship with God....and so not able to enter in the "rest" that He has for those who walk in His ways.

Anger and guilt are the two big causes of mental disease. God CAN cure both of these for the broken hearted.

Matt 11:28-30

28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
(from New International Version)

Gal 5:22-24

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
(from New International Version)

If you have a chemical imbalance you take the proper medication. Get therapy and pray.
Just like when you are hungry, you get food, eat it nd pray.
The pray part can be before, during, after, or all three but it can't be the only thing.
Easy to verify this. Next time you're hungry just pray. Don't get any food and don't eat any.

Actually, I think that mental health and Christianity don't mix.

Sorry, but that don't work. I am bipolar, was very active in church for many years prayed, fasted and have beeb anointed by the Elders of my church and I'm still sick. I still have been hospitalized and all that good stuff.
Frankly God doesn't care anymore.

Most mental health problems are biological, so what you're talking about is equivalent to curing cancer and heart disease through faith healing. Hocus Pocus!

i think of they do it by way of fact they sense extra useful so as that they circulate off their meds. they at the instant are not getting therapy interior the 1st place by way of perceived "stigmata" that includes admitting to a psychological ailment. There are courses that may help with the fee of prescription meds and or get them loose yet maximum sufferers do no longer understand approximately it.

Well I do believe that, but I also believe God made people smart enough to become Therapist so they could help people who need it. i would hate to think someone wouldn't seek help if they needed too, you can also pray about it but I would not rule out getting more help.
