I am seriously questioning his "kindness"!!! Is he really a nice "GOD"? A god that carries us when we are in trouble?!!
Why should I believe in a GOD that kills the innocent!!

Apparently, You-Know-Who does it out of jealousy. He wants to be loved exclusively and gets very angry if any other god is praised. See Exodus:20:5: "For I the LORD your God am a jealous god, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation of those that hate me."

This could explain why religious services can be summarized for the most part as: "Praise the Lord!"

But that doesn't really answer your question because YKW doesn't mention daughters. By those standards, about half of those babies should have been saved. (Would that have been a semi-holacaust?)

In fairness to YKW, I am depending on a translation. The original may have referred to children instead of sons. Orthodox Jews treat women much like the Taliban.

Too bad they didn't have a tape recorder.

Because the "god" that was mentioned in that story is only the latest of five who had the same story. The whole Noah story is simply a retelling of a common middle eastern myth (most of the stories are much older than the biblical version known to most of the Christians)

The whole building a boat and saving humans/animals is common to all the stories, though they differ in details and some reasons.

You've got the Summerian story of Ziusudra who has the god Enki killing off folks; you've got the Babylonian story of Atrahasis with the god (Ea) Enki ; the Babylonian story of Utnapishtim and the god Enlil; and then Noah with the god El,(Elohim) Yahweh

All of these were "tribal" gods and somewhat nasty overall - pretty much a bigger reflection of the locals -- that same as the Greek pantheon was just a hilltop version overall of the social mores of their time as well.

If it helps you any - it wasn't just the kids who were supposedly offed. It was everyone else as well (oh, wait, they were ALL supposed to be evil except the four or five or whatever of the family of the ONE person who was supposed to be "good". Uh-huh. And while we're at it, let's spare a little sympathy for all those poor gerbils and hamsters and cute little bunnies who were drowned as well.

I cannot believe that you would even entertain such a mythical story as Noah's flood, archaeology has already proven that it simply wasn't possible, as for God killing babies well that's also a myth, you have to remember that ignorants runs rampid within religion, and people are so programed by religion that they will just about believe in anything regarding the bible, I have been a catholic now for over 50 years and even I can see the misinterpretations and inconsistencies that is written in the bible, so to blame God for anything is simply shear nonsense.

God shows kindness to whom He chooses to show kindness, and hardens whom He chooses to harden. "Nice" is not a adjective used to describe God in the Bible. He is holy, righteous and just. You also seem to have an idea that there are any born of man and woman who are "innocent". This is not true, all are born in sin, with a sin nature. Only one was born of a woman innocent. God can pretty much do as He pleases with His creation, it is His world and His universe. He does not owe us an explanation for anything He does. God carries His people through their troubles, there is no promise to do so for unbelievers. If you do not believe, it is because God has not given you the faith to believe, it is His choice, not yours.

Since you DON'T believe in God, why would you even believe that there was a flood that He caused?

Seems like some one has given you an agenda of condemning something you don't believe in. Kind of strange, isn't it?

because God knows what we know not. How are we to know if those " babies" wouldn't have grown up to be murderers or whatever. Or perhaps God tests if someone is a true believer and not a fake one, by taking something he loves, and if he is a true believer God can reward with something better. You can not always look at things at face value, especially when it comes to God.

Nothing really changed in the grand scheme of things. Certain actions were needed to keep the program on track. These "babies" have been back with us several times since.

It amazes me that people who don't believe in God use Him for a punch-line when attempting to throw the spotlight off their own willful ignorance by attempting to cast aspersions on Him. Girl, God said "The earth and everything in it is Mine". He does not owe you an explanation for what He does. Do you owe me an explanation for why you have such disrespect for Him? I didn't think so. Neither does He owe you an explanation for why He destroyed a bunch of worthless people who did nothing day or night but mock Him and ridicule his servant. If you're that upset, file a suit against Him with the ACLU. I'm more than certain they'd be glad to hear your "case".
