If you TRULY want an answer, check Bertrand Russell's essay, 'Why I am not a Christian.' It's a short essay. You can click the 2nd link for the whole essay.

But just a few reasons of mine:

No proof that Jesus even existed.
The history of how the New Testament was assembled.
The discrepancies within the New Testament.
The amount of evil performed by so-called Christians
The fact that Christians are a minority on the planet.

I could go on and on. But you get the idea. By the way, there are many things I like in the New Testament and find to be wise and useful, but the same can be said for many books.

I am not a Christian because I personally do not believe that Jesus met the "requirements" to be the Messiah. I am Jewish and follow the law God gave to Moses at Har Sinai. I believe everyone has a choice and I choose to live by the law of Moses.
By the way, I don't see anything wrong with the questions. Sometimes questions like this can lead to debate and discussion that are very meaningful.

Because I felt a stronger tie with my ancestral Gods. The Gods and Goddesses of Greece still have worshipers today, and Christianity did not speak to me in the same way.....

the churches are incapable of dealing with present-day problems.........there is no version of christianity which is really satisfactory. christians believe that because of the fall of adam and eve, all human beings are born in a state of original sin, and are unable by their own actions to merit heaven....................christianity has so many mysteries, and compulsory 'must believes'. how can god crucify jesus for forgiving mans sins'? if god wanted to forgive everyone, he could have done so without having jesus crucified...!!! how can jesus be the ransom for the sins of the entire humanity??? and when you question the priests, all they have to say is, "throw away such thoughts and accept christianity without any reservation.".

Because I felt the call of my Gods. I answered and haven't looked back. I can't even begin to describe how at peace I am with it.
