She is a goldendoodle. Her eyes look a little red. Is she going to be alright? Will that hurt her? She is also very quiet and calm. I would expect her to be very lively. She also haan't gone potty. She went twice today from 1:00. Is this normal?

Is she eating and playing, and moving a lot? If so then she isn't too ill. I don't understand "a little red" but you will need to take her into the vet for shots anyway, so ask him.

I take it a golden doodle is a lab/poodle.The problem with breeding these mixes is that you get problems associated with both breeds.Try bathing the puppies eyes with luke warm water with a tiny amount of salt added , use clean cotton wool for each eye, if the condition does not clear up in a day or so take the pup to the vet.Normally young pups do eat and sleep a lot, and you would expect them to be busy when they are awake.I do not know what you mean about potty make sure your puppy has access at all times to water and that she is taken out at various times throughout the day to relieve herself. if in doubt contact your vet..

Hey. I am sooo happy for you. Congradulations.
Well the red around the eyes is probably just allergies.
They are all quiet and calm at first because they are nervous
and dont know much about you. She will need some time to
get to know you.
Yes that is normal. When did you get her. And go take her to the veternarian. She needs a check up to be sure she is totally healthy.
Good luck with your lil bundle of joy.

Well the important thing is not if that is normal but more that you should take you NEW puppy in as soon as possible to get a file and all the vaccinations and everything it needs. Also you can ask the vet any questions you have and you will get the proper answers. Another thing is that your new pet is a puppy-new to the world and to the home. It may take a week or two for her to get situated but surely she will settle in and be back to normal! =] Good luck and i hope that everything goes well with you and your new pup. =]

You may want to take her to the vet and get her eyes checked out. I'm not sure if entropia is common in poodles, but if that's the problem it will need to be surgically fixed. They could be a just bit dry, they could require daily drops for the rest of the dogs life. Nobody here can really tell you what's going on, but the vet will be able to tell you for sure if there is a problem with the eyes or not.

Did you get the puppy from a pet store? Most of those dogs are poorly bred, and tend to have a lot of health problems. Take her to the vet as soon as you get a chance, and watch her very closely. Most importantly, give her lots of love! A lot of those dogs can have socialization problems, even at such a young age.

Puppies tend to be ''lazy'', and a lot of people don't realize that. It's similar to a baby.....they have short spurts of activeness, but they tend to sleep a lot.

The main thing that should ALWAYS be done when you get a new pet.....is to schedule a ''general check up'' with your veterinarian ASAP. If there are hidden health problems, you'll want to know right away, and if not, then it's nice to know from day 1 that you have a healthy pup.

the quietness is probably just b/c she's a baby. she needs rest. if she isn't playing at all during the day then i'd worry. the eyes may be a bit concerning though. is she tearing? call your vet and ask them. they'll probably want to take a look at her.
enjoy your puppy.

It doesn't sound very normal. I would take her to the vet as soon as possible. Chances are, your goldendoodle came from a backyard breeder or puppy mill that doesn't take good care of their dogs. Best of luck to you and your pup.

Audrina!!!

Congratulations!!!!! I am so happy for you! You must be so happy... :))))) What's her name? Where did you end up getting her?

Your best bet is to bring her into the vet sometime this week for a good exam and any vaccines she is due for. Bring a fecal sample!!! I am sure she is just fine!
