There are several causes of dandruff - some people's skin builds up layers of skin faster than it sheds off, some dandruff is caused by a skin yeast.

To address these problems, some dandruff shampoos have salicylic acid which helps slough off old skin cells more quickly. Other shampoos have ingredients to kill skin yeast.

Dandruff is dead skin cells. Dandruff shampoo works because it is high in alkaline. This strips off any dead skin cells from the scalp. It does not cure dandruff, just a very strong shampoo to remove the loose (or dead) skin cells.

Most dandruff is seborrhoeic dermatitis. Selsun or Nizoral are the best to use with baby shampoo in between

By moisturising the scalp, preventing more dead skin from falling off. Just like when you wash your face with something too strong and it gets a little flaky, then you have to exfoliate (like when you massage your head while washing your hair), then you moisturise

They get rid of the dandruff after you keep it on for three to four mins. but you must also ensure that you keep your scalp moisturized to make sure that there are no future breakouts of dandruff.

i may be assassinated for telling you this but its full of nano machines.. they eat up the DNA from your dead skin and send that data to the section 8
once all the information is gathered, a clone is made of you and one day you get replaced..
and sent to a alien world where you put to work as a slave and have to eat stale hostess cupcakes and tap water to survive
so my advice is dont use it.. or any soap products or make up..

1] they have medication, like pyrithione zinc, or salicylic acid, to help detach and prevent flakes
2] they have moisturizers to also help prevent flakes
Next time you get a sunburn or blister, look at the dead skin - it doesn't look much like the flakes, because those flaky skin cells have overproduced, and defectively enough that they stick together.

you leave the shampoo in your hair for 3mins. and it eats it up or gets it off your head somehow and then it just rinses off
