because when you give to others you are getting things that can't be found in stores and things that can't be taken... like respect, thanks, friendship, hugs, and many other things.. If you haven't noticed before, those things of which I was referencing to, are considered the things that make life worth living. The simple pleasures of life :)

Acts 1:20 I think is the verse, and it's better to give than recieve because by giving from your heart you recieve a reward in heaven.

Millionaires and billionaires give, the poor receive. So who is in the better position? the millionaire or the poor? Hands down I would prefer to be the millionaire who gives then the poor who receives.

The Bible verse has been pointed out to you already, so I won't do that part. HOWEVER....
My feeling is that, if no one ever RECEIVES then HOW can you GIVE? I hand you a present. You say, "Oh, NO thank you, I just couldn't accept your gift," and hand it back to me! I feel terrible, strange, put out, unhappy... etc. No receiving, no giving, no blessing???
I feel that RECEIVING is part of the blessing of GIVING. I hand you a present. You say, "Oh, why THANK you for your kindness!" You open it, admire it, and say, "Oh, you are so thoughtful! What a wonderful friend you are!" I feel... GREAT! WONDERFUL! APPRECIATED!! HAPPY!! WOWEEE!! Receiving, giving, BLESSING!
But you see, in that "receiving" you are actually "giving"... you are giving your thanks and appreciation to someone... you are giving them happiness, joy, and pleasure by having accepted and appreciated their kindness. See? We ARE GIVING when we RECEIVE... and then EVERYONE receives blessings!
So... go ahead out there folks... RECEIVE those gifts, with joy, happiness, and appreciation.... and everyone will be happier for it!
Have a polite day!

i agree with what everybody else has said but some people say that because they want to be the reciever and not the giver.
