HOLY CRAP! That is beyond excessive spending. I mean, if you can afford it, more power to you, but that amount seem extravagant for no practical reason.

I honestly believe it is an insanely rediculous amount of money for a wedding. When you waste that much money, I dont think it is about the love or the vows, it is all about showing off how affluent you are.
There are people starving and dying in the world and you are spending $300,000 on a wedding.
You dont need money to be married. If two people truley love one another, all they need is love and some close friends to celebrate with.
Make some donations to people less fortunate than you.

I think that is rediculous... you can have an amazing ceremony and a absolutely great reception with a lot less than that. $300,000 is a HOUSE! so use it for that... when you get married you will need that money to get you going... if it were me, I'd rather use that cash for a house, car, etc... 20 years from now you are going to remember the fun you had and the time with your family at your wedding, not that you spend $10,000 just on roses!

If you're even considering that amount of money for a wedding, you're very wealthy or in a wealthy family. Obviously, money is not an object to you. Must be nice.... my wedding is costing about 12,000 and I'm so strapped for cash and worrying about paying for everything. Personally, though, if I were rich like you I'd put more money towards a wonderful house and the honeymoon than more on the wedding.

It's one day. One day that will fly by and be over in the snap of a fingers. The next day all of your guests will move on with their lives and forget your wedding no matter of it cost $3,000 or $300,000 but you could have spent the money on a house, trip, car, clothes, college fund for kids and be a lot happier a week later.

If you can afford it I suppose you can spend whatever you want. Friends telling you it's not enough need to re-think themselves...I can't imagine a single thing you'd have to go without on a budget that size.
For me personally that is way, way too much. I would rather buy a house and have a average priced wedding in it and brag that I own my reception site but I'm practical like that.

Some people are lucky to make that much money in 10 years. I think it is ridiculous to spend that much on any 1 thing (except life saving medical care or a house...that's about it).
Donate $250,000 to people that really need it for real things. Then spend $50,000 on an over-the-top wedding and enjoy it.

I think you spam this board by asking this question every few days, increasing the amount and changing your name. How can you only spend a paltry $300,000 when you need at least $500,000 for a respectable wedding these days?

Spend what you feel is right. I agree with the poster melimel. She works for the company called The Planning House LLC or The Learning House LLC. Here is Fox 5 doing a story on the ceo of these companies.

the average home where I'm from is worth about that. to spend it on a wedding is just stupid unless you have millions of dollars. I personally think your either just lying or trying to show off, but think...is it really worth spending that money when half the marriages out there end in divorce. good luck with that. my wedding cost about $3000 and that was plenty.

That's a bit much. 300,000? If you can afford it, great. However if you're going in debt, you need to make a budget cut.
What on earth are you spending 300,000 on?
