I have 2 cats, and a dog that all have had fleas for about a month now, we've tried everything to get rid of them, flea shampoo, powder, shaving, and even raid. We've also washed all the blankets, vaccumed, powdered the house with the flea stuff, we've tried EVERYTHING . they keep coming back! How do I get rid of them?

Capstar will immediately kill all the adults then follow with frontline to prevent more. You are going to have to treat your home too. Borax will usually kill them, but if you have a huge infestation, you might need an exterminator.

Frontline Plus is the best flea-preventative and killer. Use it on all your dogs and your cat every month. It kills all the fleas on them within approx. 18 hours and continues to work for about 30 days. Then you need to reapply it.

If the 'bombs' you're using aren't really working that well, you may need to call in a professional pest control company. I had this problem after taking in a stray cat one time, and although it was a bit more pricey to call in the professionals it was totally worth it as it got rid of the fleas very quickly.

If you make sure you treat both the animals and the house the way I've described, pretty much at the same time, you should see the end of those annoying fleas! They've been really bad this year I think!

Good luck

Go get you animal flea dipped at the vets office, then before you ever bring them home apply FRONTLINE. Getting them dipped will kill the fleas and their eggs that are already on you pet, the frontline kills any future fleas. It kills the flea as soon as it bites. Vaccum house atleast twice a day for a week. I also would wash all blankets, sheets, and rugs and dry them in the dryer, heat kills fleas and their eggs. And in the futer apply FRONTLINE to your animal regularly to prevent future fleas. It has to be FRONTLINE not biospot or any other generic brand.

buy diatomaceous earth powder....sprinkle a tablespoon on each cat and rub it in and leave it for about two days, then give them a bath. I'm not sure how big your dog is, but probably two or three tablespoons will be fine. Sprinkle it all over your carpet, anywhere where the animals go, on their bedding, your bedding, towels, etc. Leave that for four days and vacuum. Repeat those steps until they're gone, and then do it again in about 2 weeks (flea eggs are resistent to treatment, so you have to wait until they hatch to get them)
DE is harmless to both pets and animals (you can feed it to them to get rid of worms), but dont breath it in and try to prevent your animals from breathing it by covering their nose while it's airborne. Also, be 100% sure you're buying the DE used in gardens, NOT pools. Lowes only sells the pool grade, so I would just order it online.

The safest and cheapest method of getting rid of fleas is to use a mixture of boric acid and salt. The powder should be sprayed on carpets, bedding and areas frequented by pets. More information on getting rid of fleas is available at http://pests.in/fleas.html

Been going thru the same thing! It's a nightmare. I finally bombed the house, doused my dogs in 7 dust and have put 7 dust on my carpet 2 more times since the bombing. You have to get really aggressive because the eggs keep hatching!

Good luck to us both!

you will get a flea spray which you spray interior the carpet, and around the baseboards of each room, and around the door sills. whether, your suitable guess is to get the flea drugs which you place on the dogs's back between their shoulders (like Frontline's good Spot). it is going to finally kill off all the fleas interior the dogs's regularly occurring territory (the two interior and out), yet you could save treating each month.
