What is the average thread count for pillows?

I am not sure of average - maybe around 250. But for really nice pillows you will want a good fill weight and the highest thread count you can afford. I no longer buy sheets etc under 400.

Egyptian cotton or Percale averages 200 - 250 threads per inch. That's the normal for quality bedding.
