Thanks chief.

The antigunners (per se) are the ones i was referring to. And so are certain reps and sens.

JD: If they so deserve it. So be it. I agree. And i agreed with James J. as well. Though i will not be much help either in that arena, what i might and do know i'm willing to share in that respect.

We seem to have sparked a vast curiosity. My reason is simple compared to most, but nonetheless honest and forthcoming. That would be Heritage(Tradition), Conservation(Through the proper advancement of knowledge that meshes with heritage) and Freedom(The common denominator to which make the other two possible and unified if applied properly). I hope that makes sense.

Hell no JD, you're fine bud. You're one the bars the rest need to learn from.

Discipline is key. And you have made that very clear. I sure as hell could tell, but i'm me.

Politeness and honesty never really go out of vogue. If we all used it in all sections of YA, life would be alot nicer. I wish to encourage anyone in the hunting sports and firearms.

Mr daughters boyfriend has never shot a gun until I took him out. Now he wants to buy all kinds and is going hunting with us old farts this fall. Actually its about half old farts and half young farts now since most of our kin are in their mid 20's.

I urge everyone to take questions serious. Turn off one potential hunter and you've gained a potential anti-gunner.

Great comment and suggestion.

Without holding any personal grudges against anyone, I reflected on what I've written in the past, and have also decided It's also my responibility to be more open minded when it comes to questions concerning Paintball and Air Soft, to name just a few.
To be quite honest, I was focused on the need to have a gap between what I considered to be games and outdoor recreation and the obvious additional responsibilty of firearms use and ownership. Having grown up in strict family enviornment, I remember all too well what I had to do to prove to my parents that I was responsible enough to be allowed to have even a BB gun at 13 years old, let alone a real gun later.

I let my past interfere with my good judgement as I saw some things asked here on Answers that I felt erroded, if not eliminated that gap completely.Something that I personally hold dear along with the responsibility I had to earn and learn in my own life. I have the option as all others do, to just not answer these types of questions in the first place. I felt the need to speak up, and I was clearly wrong for doing so.

If I offended anyone, I sincerely apologise as that was not my intent. I am one who earns his living in the firearms trade as a Gunsmith and a licensed Dealer, and it is not just a casual hobby to me, but a very important part of my life. I know all too well, how important the next generation of hunters and shooters are and will continue to be. I am not making excuses, but trying my best to make my reasoning known rather than have others guess my motivation or reasons for my past responses here. Again I am sorry for hurting anyone, and will try to be more "open minded" in the future......

Thanks to an enlightened post by 'James J' the other day, I've opened my mind on the airsoft question posters and the like.

I will not be personally answering any of their questions, as I have no knowledge of these things, but pledge to be more open minded and to encourge others to do the same, as I can see that these young folks may very well be 'kindred spirits'.

As James said, there is no other place for them on YA than here and we don't need to be rude. I sure don't want to come off as an elitist....if you knew me in person you'd know that.

Truth is, it takes no effort whatsoever to ignore a question and life is too short to quibble over small stuff like this.

On a similar topic....what happened to D58? Anyone know? Even his profile is gone.

Just a note, the Anti-Hunting animal lovers that wander in here and post insulting questions and answers will still get the level of abuse that they deserve and the rules allow. Please join me in that!

Cheers!

You guys are no fun.....lol

Instead of opeing my mind to it. I spent the weekend teaching my 2 nephews some of rudimentary basics that would apply to all projectile weapons. AND YES, I got pegged with an airsoft shtogun for my efforts.....

I had the time of my life and didn't kill a thing. Except maybe some time, and a few top layer skin cells.

Keep em' coming.

well thats the best statement I've heard.
can't stand those elitist that think they're oh-so-mighty they can't take the two seconds to actually answer a question rather than belittle someone for asking it.
I say its a good thing all gun questions come to one arena, you've got more experience and brush wisdom here than you would if you threw a bunch of punks together talking about "sniper rifles" and mac10's.
sometimes I wonder if these "elite hunting-only holy-rollers" remember what they started shooting and when, or did they pop out of their mothers pumping .408 rounds off their shoulders at 800m and nailing the targets everytime?
not to mention that the same gun safety tips you follow for hunting with rifles you use for pellet guns.

thanks for bringing it up.
