Yep been there done it twice, and myself and everyone I know changed a bit good/bad from their experiences. It is the absolute worst enviroment and behovior of man-kind and it honestly is a sad flaw on us human that we resort to such measure in the past and now, and if the world economy and naturaul resources and diasters continue to spiral downward mankind as we know it is in real trouble. Man well become it own worst enemy and will cause the down fall of society as we know it and the world as we know it will be a much less desirable place to live.

Some of us would rather keep our experiences in the past while we look to the future. Dont get me wrong, there were "good" times. Like when everyone made it back inside the wire after a particulary rough mission, but for the most part, I think most of us would like to let sleeping dogs lie. My own wife doesnt know much about my time overseas; I think, as a general consensus, the only people alot of vets will share their experiences with are fellow soldiers- especially the cherries, because they just might learn something that saves their life; matter of fact, alot of the new guys at my unit knows more about my time overseas than my wife- just to prove a point.

Besides, there are plenty of people who have written books on their individual experiences, why not go buy one?

Volunteer at a Veterans Hospital or a military hospital in your area. If they are willing to talk to you you will hear your stories and they will get some company.

Yes, I've been to war. No, I don't have the time or writing space to tell you about it here. Do you want to know for entertainment like many others do? Do you just want to see a bitter combat veteran get fired up over having to relive his darkest days? If you want to know for reference, feel free to message me, and I might tell you. If you want to know for your entertainment or to satisfy some morbid curiousity, then you're barking up the wrong tree.
