There are some contemplative orders which are restrictive but for the most part nuns can read whatever they like. Many are nurses and teachers and need to read. My sister, who is a nun, is currently studying law but reads for pleasure in her spare time.

Nuns are allowed to read anything they please, as are priests, and rabbis and other religious. What makes you think they can't? Newspapers are non-religious and they read those too. If you are referring to books and articles written about magic and the supernatural, of course the religious can read these things, they are free people and have the right to read whatever they choose.

Yes, absolutely. In fact, we have a friend who is a nun and she loves to read mystery books. They are people just like we are and enjoy normal things, as long as these things don't tempt them to sin.

Yes they are, so are Priests, in fact my Parrish Priest is an avid fan of Harry Potter. Catholics are not as strict as most view us to be. :-)

I think they can: I must admit, I don't know much about the rules of different religious orders.
