I have a virtually new (used 4 times) Badger airbrush I'd like to sell (no compressor included.) Feel free to e-mail me.

I don't think the question could be answered any better than helonart handled it..I'm also a long time airbrush artist & the advise she gave is very sound..Dick Blick is also a very reputable art supply company but their specialty is not airbrush as in the case of Bear Air..I wish your brother a very happy birthday--an airbrush set-up would make a wonderful gift..

Hi, I've been an airbrusher for 14 years. The best prices for airbrush equipement is at Bear Air.

They are very helpful in suggestions for an airbrush system. If he plans on using the textile paints the PSI on your compressor needs to be at 70 PSI. so you can't just get a small compressor. That is only for watery paints used for hobby painting. Many airbrushers just use a cheaper construction conpressor, but is it loud.

If you just get one airbrush, with hose and multiple bottles, construction compressor and then a set of paints, Your looking at a minimum of $300.

Many pros use an airbrush for each color so they don't have to be washed out each time for each color. But of course you have to do alot of airbrushing to justify this expense.

There are others on the net, just google. Your research or your brother's, will explain why there aren't many airbrushers out there. It takes money, yes, but mainly it takes alot of tenacity to stick to it and practice, practice, practice. You don't touch the surface in airbrush, and for many, that presents alot of problems. The rest is tips and tricks of the trade.

Best wishes on his airbrush adventure.

Hi there,

You may try Dickblick.
Work with your parents on that because cheap comes expensive. Don't go buying something cheap only to find out that he won't be abble to do a good work with it.
A compressor is needed (better than keep buying air cans).
I'm going to give you a link and be sure to ask there (will have to register but definatelly worth it and also tell your brother about the link - after the surprise, of course !!).
