Do Mormons believe that Jesus is the king of just this world or is He king of all spirit worlds. I heard that each good Mormon will end up being the king of his on spirit world, not Jesus. If that's true then Jesus is just a god instead of God, right?

According to LDS doctrine Jesus will always be the first born spirit child of the Father in Heaven. This will aways make him the ruler of terrestrial kingdom but only for those born to Earth. He will also go out and be the "Father in Heaven" to world that were "organized" by his first couple of spirit children and he am Michael the arch angel did for Earth. This world will be populated by the spirit offspring of Jesus and one of His wives (Mary, Martha, Mary Magdalene, or one of the other exalted women he will be given after the resurrection)... This is the goal of all Mormon men to attain the status of the Father in heaven.. This is a major part of why Mormonism is a cult. IHS .. Jim

Mormons believe that God and Jesus are seperate beings. God is the Father, Jesus is the Son. With the Holy Ghost they comprise the God Head. Three seperate beings. They also believe that Faithful Mormons with become Gods, and be able to have "eternal increase" having many spirit children, and many worlds of their own. The common quote used to describe this belief is, "As man is God once was. As God is, man may become." by Brigham Young.

Mormons believe that Jesus is the Son of Heavenly Father or God. We believe in the trinity-God, the Father, Jesus Christ, his Son, and the Holy Ghost. Each of us on earth are children of God, not Jesus. Jesus is our Saviour, our lord and because of him we will be able to rise again. No, Jesus isn't a god. He's the Son of God.

As far as the potential of each of us to be Gods....we are each the spirit children of God. This isn't a concept unique to Mormon Christianity.

Mormons believe that Christ's atonement was infinite and eternal. That he atoned for the sins of all of God's children that had been born and would be born on any of God's worlds. Christ would be king on all such worlds.

Frankly, this isn't a detail that any of us really need to get hung up on right now. I don't know that it's been addressed by any authority, and I don't know that God has spoken on the issue (and I can't say that he needs to). However it is interesting to ponder. I think this is a good question to ask the man himself in 100 years or so.

LDS doctrine is EXTREMELY complex, and I'm finally understanding what the brethren have meant by building "precept upon precept".

From what I've understood, yes man may become as God is. However to answer the second part of your question (whether Jesus is simply on our level also on his own cosmic journey) I've been taught that he is still our Lord because not only did he physically create the world (God directed Jesus [Jehovah] to build the world) but he also has been the only human to ever walk this earth that has completed the entire process of exaltation (He was born, he lived, he suffered, he died, he resurrected, and ascended to Heaven) all other humans have either:

1. Yet to been born
2. Have been born and are currently living
3. Lived and have died (With the exception of mortal death for a few like Elijah) and are awaiting resurrection, judgement, and ascension.

So in conclusion, at the VERY LEAST, Jesus is just a few steps ahead of us. This is all extrapolation however, no one less God reveals it to them, can explain every little facet of Jesus' nature.

You heard wrong; we believe in God the Father and His son Jesus Christ, and whilst we believe that we should strive to become like Jesus, we do not imagine we can ever take his place as Lord of Lords and King of Kings. If there are other worlds (and I have never heard anyone at church preach that there are other spirit worlds) then Jesus is Lord of them all.

AAAAAaaaa hahahahaha... laughing at Robert's answer...

As a born/raised Mormon, I can tell you flat out that what he said about Mormons teaching that Mary being mother to Jesus AND Satan is ridiculously false.

In response to his statement, I'm going to clarify.
Everyone has a spirit and a body, Jesus Christ included... Some of God's children rejected His plan for this life, the leader of that group being Lucifer.... so yes, Jesus and Satan are both children of God, as are the rest of us.

Only those who chose to accept God's plan got the opportunity to recieve a physical body, the leader of that group being Jesus Christ. Anyone who's taken biology knows the process by which everyone gets a body (except Jesus Christ)- sex. In Jesus Christ's case, the Father of His physical body was God, the Father, and the mother of His physical body was Mary.

Ok, now to the actual question that has been posted.
Jesus used analogies (parables), so I will, too.

In this life, there are a lot of women who are mothers, but only one is MY mom. As her daughter, I've always had the potential to be like her, but I will never replace her as mother to my brothers (I would add sisters, but I don't have any...)

Whatever/whoever else may be "out there," there is only one almighty one who is our God, our Father. His chosen son, Jesus Christ is our Savior, and will rule over us always. No matter how much we progress, God will always be our Father, and Jesus will always be our king.

Part of the challenge Tirinitarian Christians have in understanding Mormon theology is the fact that we believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ aren't one being.

They are as "one" as a husband and wife. Yes, Mr and Mrs Jones are united in vison and purpose (usually), but they're not one being. Sometimes you may say, "The Jones'", meaning one or the other or both, but they are still two separate beings.

The Father and the Son are one in vision and purpose (always!), but they're not one being. Some may use the term "God", meaning one or the other or both, but They are still two separate Beings.

We believe He is more then us, and that we can become as He is, exalted and resurrected. We will never be over God, or Christ. God will always be our God, no matter what we become. We have all been promised that we can become joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17, John 17:11-23). We take this literally. We can become joint heirs with Christ, having all the Father has, just as Christ does.

This is a deeper concept then can easily be understood, it takes the basics of understanding of our religion. Once you can understand the basics, it's easier to understand the deeper stuff.

Here is a website that could explain it better.

What we beleve is that we may inherit, through our good works and faith and long suffering, that we may become exalted and sit at the right hand of God and become joint heirs with Christ. Now we may inherit all the father has and become as the father. We will have dominion over our own kingdom if we can obtain it. It is a really indepth topic that is rooted in truth and is represented in the bible and in primitive Christianity. If you have any questions, or would like a more full understanding of this docterine, e-mail me or go to jefflindsay.com and use the google apliance there to find a full docternal approach and many proofs of this being an original docterine.

Lindsay got it right.
Jim b is misguided and a bigot.
Robert on the other hand is an anti-mormon posing as a Mormon spewing out wrongly calculated doctrines. Mormons don't believe Mary had sex God the Father.

They believe that God is the creator of the Universe, and Jesus is his only begotten son. They believe in the Godhead meaning that God, the son, and the holy spirit are one in purpose but three seperate beings. They believe that God was once a man who was exalted to the being he is now, and they believe men can become exalted beings as well.
