I feel bad that you're having such a tough time getting contacts -- I wear glasses too and a lot of people have told me the same thing about looking better without glasses. I signed up to get contacts years ago, but never actually was able to take them home because I couldn't demonstrate to the eye doctor that I was able to put them in my eyes (my eyes are really sensitive to putting stuff like that in them and they won't let you take them home unless you can do it lol)

Anyways, I think your Dads arguments are not so good -- its much better to wear contacts in gym because you won't have your glasses smashed off your face/broken in sports, they can't fall off. Also, contacts are not really that expensive -- like you said the cost of a pair of glasses is A LOT more than a large supply of contacts and saline solution.

I think the best way to get your Dad to agree is to talk to your Mom...see if you can get her to promote your views about wanting the contacts. If she won't or that doesn't work, try and setup a deal with your Dad about a reward for doing well in school or something that you can do to help out (like chores around the house or something)

If you were my daughter, I'd just go get them for you tomorrow...but I guess you have to be clever and figure out a way to convince Dad that they will be useful for you.

Good luck!!

First of all, wearing glasses in gym is worse than wearing contacts in gym. You could easily have your glasses knocked off and broken during gym class. Glasses can fog up, as well. That's why most athletes are forced to wear contacts.

Another argument that might work is that you could tell your parents that contacts help to stabilize your prescription (since you have a lens holding youjr cornea in place so that it cannot chan ge shape as fast with a contact lens, but there's no such luck with glasses). Of course, you would have to do some research so that your parents will believe you.

You'll also have to prove that you are responsibie enough to handle contacts--in other words, that you won't lose them or forget to keep them clean.

You are a bit young to be having contact lenses, ideally, as your eyesight will be changing a lot as you are growing.. However, this isn't necessarily a problem if you get frequent check-ups and make sure your lenses are always made to your most current prescription.

First of all, not all lenses nowadays are hideously expensive (though, to be fair, some of the really brilliant ones are), and buying them off the internet makes them even cheaper! Explain to your dad that you will promise to take the greatest responsibility with them (making sure you keep them scrupulously clean!), and that they are not as expensive as he may think..

Get a paper route, do babysitting, cut grass, shovel snow to make money then offer to pay for them yourself.

Since you don't have a good track record about taking care of your things, he likely doesn't want to spend money on something else you will lose. If you pay for them, it is then your problem if you lose them.

i could guess that it extremely is a value factor on your father and mom, yet they do no longer desire to tell you that. Your suitable guess could be to decide for the lasiks surgical technique and prepare the fee effectiveness over an entire life. evaluate which you will need new glasses each year or 2.
