You have two choices. Apple gives out free a program called BootCamp, it is on their website. You install BootCamp on a partitioned hard drive, then install either XP or Vista. Either will run. You need to provide a legal version of XP or Vista. when you start up your MacBook Pro, you'll have the option of which system software to run. Second choice is a program called Parallels. You have to purchase it from various distributors. After it is installed, you put on your copy of XP or Vista. The difference is that you can run Parallels & XP/Vista at the same time as MacOs X. You can have both operating systems running at the same time and switch back and forth between them. You can even have them split screen and drag and drop files. Your only concern, that part of your MacBook which is Windows can get any of the 115,000 Windows viruses. The Mac side will stay secure.

Windows is not designed to be run on a Mac due to the difference in processors. However, if you've got an Intel based Mac, check out Apples bootcamp
