I am always scared someone will make fun of and judge me or look at me funny. It makes me uncomfortable for the rest of the school day. Any advice??

It may sound arrogant, but I just decided one day that I am fabulous! For every one bad thing someone may say or think about me, I have at least 3 things that prove that I am a great person. You have to realize what is great about you and let it show.

It takes a lot of time to learn to be confident in yourself. I've finally learned (after 22 years) that I should do what I like, what makes me happy, and that's all that matters. If you worry about what others think, you'll only be stressed out and unhappy and everyone else will run your life for you.
Maybe try starting with something you like and do it just for you, and not think about anything else. Like if you want to wear green, but green isn't "trendy" just do it and act confident and people won't care. Most people are too busy to care what you do.
In school, kids are always immature and judgemental. It gets better when you're in university, so don't give up and just be yourself.

First of all, be true to yourself, cause in the end, you're the one you have to answer to. Whatever you do or say will stay with you for life. If you live doing what you feel is right, then nothing else should matter. If you can go to bed each night and feel that you did the right thing, then you should be happy with yourself, no matter what anyone else says or does. As long as you live a good life and do what's right, you should have no problems. Remember, if you can't make yourself proud, then you can't make anyone else proud of you. Just as if you're happy with yourself, then and only then, can you make others happy.

A very strong sense of self as in high self-esteem, self-confidence, fiercely independent, comfortable in my own skin and knowing I'm one-of-kind. I know that I can't please everyone all the time; so, I take good care of inside self and trust my instincts. Peers will always find some fault somewhere or criticize something. I take note who is talking and realize they are not worth my time or energy. To me, it's funny-sad how my two-faced, forked-tongue peers fight to be top dog no matter the cost. So, my armor is like water off a duck's back and I keep walking. My facial expressions and body language show no fear and fake-it-until-I-make-it total self-assurance. Good luck. I hope this helps.

O well i think abt that all the time too... but u need to learn that its not their opinion that matters.. just you and your friend... and look at their qualities and see whats wrong with them and say im so glad im not like that... just hold on to your friends and make strong friendships... you'll make it thro it..... GOOD LUCK!

When it comes down to it, the only people whose opinions really matter are friends, family, and possibly the person that signs your paychecks.

I have one simple rule about what people think about me
'is it true?'
if so, i try to do something about it, if it matters
otherwise, i dont give it a second thought
