Stopping immigration would be foolish, short sighted and probably racist.

Immigration is not the fundamental problem.

The reason that the immigration debate is so interminable and unsolvable is that no one can quote the numbers.
Where are all the immigrants coming from and what are they doing when they come here? Nobody knows. Ask your representative why they don't know.

Any warehouse manager can tell exactly how many came in and how many went out, whether that be baked beans, thumb tacks or needles in a haystack.
Why is it then, that all the cars in London can be photographed and charged daily, yet all the people stepping on to an island can't be? Are there more people coming in daily than there are cars in London? A worrying scenario.

Legal immigration should be welcomed and integration encouraged, illegal immigration should not.

Business likes the idea of cheap labour and doesn't pick up the bill for the social costs, crime, health provision, education, housing etc. The Government doesn't want to admit the state that the immigration department is in, and is looking for a way to grant a general amnesty, again.

We, and I include immigrants are being failed by those tasked with getting to grips with the problem.

I am a sort of imigrant, I originaly lived in the Isle of Man but moved to N Yorkshire in the uk a year and a half ago.
We moved to be in the countryside and have a better lifestyle. Its been very hard to settle in and make friends and even though I am very well educated and have a lot of office and banking experience I have only been able to find part time work. My husband also has only been able to find part time work and we are both on min wage. Each month is a struggle and we dont have any spare for savings etc.
However we will NOT claim benefits or assistance in any way, We made the choice to live here, and love the life we have no matter how hard it is. I feel that if more people were gratefull and looked at what life in the uk can give them and not what they can take from people and the government, the whole situation would be much better.

Yes it is .

I am sick of immigrants telling us we are immigrants in our own country, while they enjoy the benefits of everything my ancestors and my own family have worked to build up over the centuries to the present day.

How ungrateful is that! They might just have had the decency to be willing to show a bit of respect for our customs.

Over the years we have had immigrants who were prepared to integrate and thus were welcomed into our lives. This was not the same as immigration is today.

The immigrants we are seeing now are here for an easy ride they want to cause trouble and refuse to fit in with us

Previously I felt multiculturism was not a good idea as it was presented. Now I know it wasn't!

Yes it is time to stop its getting out of hand but our ***** government which we voted are to scared to get on the wrong side of other nation. What a load of tosh aren't they suppose to put us first isn't that why we vote for them????
A term of BNP in leadership should do the trick vote them in let them clean the country up vote them out whats the problem???
I'm just glad that more people are starting to talk about it perhaps next election we'll do something about it.
I can not believe the amount of racist comments here towards white people and shock horror they get away with but how dare i call a black board a blackboard because its racist.

Yes, sixty million is too large for an island this size. We need to get back down to fifty or fifty five million to make housing less of an issue. Maybe we should encourage all the pensioners to sell up and move to somewhere cheap and sunny. One final fifteen year holiday where your pension goes three times as far as it would at home.

Not all immigration but definatly people from europe. I realy believe the EU has messed this country up. They do not benefit this country in anyway and cant even speak the english language.

About the same as stopping all the immigration to U.S. Next question. Moot point.

P.S. To Whoever's giving all of us answerers here the bad ratings, get a brain. The majority of us here feel the same. Anything attempted about any immigration anywhere is "too little, too late"!

Get over yourself and find another site.

As Tanya Tucker sang, "It's a Little To Do The Right Thing Now." And if you think it is gonna get better, well, you better listen to Johnny Cash sing, "Wrong!" It is a melofhess. "If We Could Turn Back Time," Cher sang, but is that possible? Is it all "Gone With the Wind?" Well, I am old enough now if feel like Glark Gable who said, "Frankly, I Don't Give a Damn!"
