AND they did it because thier religion promised them a reward for doing it right?

I got a bunch of thumbs down for pointing this out on another question.

That is right.

They were Muslim. Islam promises a heavenly reward for those who die fighting "infidels," which anyone who is not a muslim is considered.

It's not politically correct to point it out, but that doesn't mean it isn't the truth.

Good for you for not being afraid to speak the truth.

It's really NOT about Islam. I am not a Muslim. However, the little I do know about Islam is that it is a religion designed to give people hope and to help them improve themselves. A few extremists hijack planes, strap on bombs and do these things in the name of Islam. It doesn't indict the whole religion any more than some coach in Arkansas praying for his High School team to win on the way to a game make Christianity trivial. Christians have commit ed murder, invasions, genocide in the name of God. Does that make Christianity all bad? As far as how the victims of hijackings should feel? Whatever they need to feel. However, if they want to heal from the trauma, they need to express their anger, fear, sadness, grief, whatever, and eventually move on. I was beat up by a couple of African Americans when I was 17. Does this mean I should go around beating up all blacks? There are bad apples in every religion, every race, every neighborhood, and every family. Jerkitis (being a jerk) is an equal opportunity problem. The reason these terrorists hijack planes is because they can. They used to do it in Israel. Have you heard of an el Al plane being hijacked recently? The Israelis have much better security than us Americans do. We should learn from them.

The fundamentalist extremists who hijacked the planes on 9/11 claimed that they were Muslim and believed that they were going to rewarded due to the righteousness of their jihad. Jihad being the obligation to fight on behalf of his beliefs, against nonbelievers and corrupters of belief meaning the Jews and the United States. One German investigator who is quoted from a book by Terry McDermott sums up the characteristics and mindset of the 9/11 jihadists: "They are not talking about daily life stuff, such as buying cars -- they buy cars, but they don't talk about it, they talk about religion most of the time . . . these people are just living for their religion, meaning for them that they just live now for their life after death, the paradise. They want to live obeying their God, so they can enter paradise. Everything else doesn't matter." There are other books and articles out there that will tell you the same thing. The belief of the 9/11 hijackers is not indicative of all Muslims and their religious beliefs or doctrines. So please do not assume that ALL Muslims believe what the hijackers believed. The hijackers were led to a brand of radical extremism that claims killing the infidel to be righteous and good in order to save the Muslim religion from Western influence.

From what I understand yes they were Muslim. In that religion you are promised certain things. As for how they themselves interpret what was written makes all the difference. You can read anything and all will find a different meaning behind what is said. These people were brain washed into believing something that wasn't correct. They were told what to believe instead of reading and believing for themselves. The chose to believe what some power maniac wanted them to believe. And we all know from growing up that you can influence someone to think that something is right and correct. America is the hated country. We can't help that. What we have here is so special and so strong that some can't comprehend it. I know some people who believe in the Muslim religion and they don't believe what these people believed. It's sad and it's unfortunate that all Muslims are now grouped into one category. When most are very nice loving people.

Yes they are muslim and yes they did it because of the Koran. What is interesting is that the muslim community did not say that there is no way these guys could be Muslim, instead some just labeled them extremist muslims, which indicates to me that what they did is not contrary to their teachings. If it were a bunch of Christians that did this their faith would be in question by many, and never would we think they are just extremist. Like Jones town and David Keresh's followers, they were labeled as a cult by the Christian community.

1- What is your confirmed source for this piece of information? (That those who hijacked the 9/11 planes were Muslims)

2- No, Islam does not promise a reward for those who kill and frighten safe civilian people, on the contrary, it's forbidden and if Muslims do so, they will be punished in Judgment Day even if they attacked non-Muslims.

Yes and Yes. There are no wives in heaven as heaven is a spiritual place not where there is sex going on!

Just think about it. How outrageous to teach a false doctrine about how many wives you get in heaven! --- And when you blow up and murder innocent people.

My question has always been: What do the women get in heaven; 25 husbands?? Or is it 50? Such ludicris crap!

EDIT:

Thanks TriadBeast. If you are truly correct and without error, then this Muslim, Islamic false religion is truly delusional. Why are there so many Muslim/Islamic women if it is taught by this religion that they go to hell? This is outrageous. False religions...blah anymore.

They were Muslim, and most of them were Saudi Arabian, not Iraqi.
The fact that some people wildly misinterpret their religion in order to do horrible things they really want to do anyway is not confined to those of the Muslim faith, as you surely know. Christians, throughout history, have very often done the same thing "for the glory of god."
Tinman, not all terrorists are Muslim. What about the Irish Republican Army? What about Timothy McVeigh? Etc. etc. etc.

Well, you get a thumbs up from me. One cannot deny history and for the present, the Muslim have made there intentions known. Its no secret. Its that we here in the west have the hidden agenda of the media on the one hand and the truth on the hand. The media seeks to tone down the reports of all terrorism and blame the USA for all of the worlds woes.
While all Muslims may not be terrorist, all terrorist are Muslims. The moderate Muslims have allowed for their religion to be hijacked by a certain percentage of radicals.

Yes, they were Muslim extremists, not to be confused with the average Islamist. The biggest problem is that the average Muslim is unwilling to stand up and decry the actions of those extremists.

"You have received a message from another user!

From: hints_dont_work

Subject: muslims?

Message: your silly lil comment about muslims not standing up, they do just because good media doesn't sell as much as bad media doesn't mean you should close your eyes "

I said that average Muslims do not speak out. There are some extraordinarily brave Muslims speaking out but unfortunately, their countries are so unsafe due to extremists, they usually don't survive very long. .

This private message is just another example that one cannot even speak truthfully to those who refuse to listen to the truth. I would guess that this answerer actually supports the efforts of Al Queda and the similar ilk who find justification for their violence against innocents in their holy book. BTW American soldiers are killing fighters and insurgents, these scumbags are killing civilians and doing so at a rate of ten times that of the U.S. military. No, we are not going to leave the Arabian penninsula just because some thugs want us to.The USA is the main reason there is any wealth and democracy in the region, the suffering and violence existed long before we arrived..

The guys who did 9/11 represented the "political/fundamentalist/extremist" point of view of people using Islam and Muslims as their mantra and billboard sign to justify what they did. It wasn't about Muslims or Islam or anything like that that they would love for you to believe. Its about fanatics who distort what Islam is all about. This by the way is coming from a Christian.
