Where are the most effective places on a cat to scratch them to make them happy or "purr"..lol...just where are they

It depends on the cat. I have one who like sbelly scratchings. Another who turns into robo cat if you touch his belly. Then there's one who loves her ears scratched and rubbed, one who's face and chin likes rubbed and scratched.

Keep looking and scratching, you will find just the right spot and kitty will let you know.

A scritch with the fingertips on the top of the head between the ears.

A full scraping ripping with fingers on the underside of the chin (some cats want you to really go to town on that area).

Rolling the neck skin between your fingers all around the jawline and down the neck to the shoulders, especially the back and side of the neck (not necessarily the front).

If you pet a cat how it's mother will have cleaned it, say with one or two fingers like a mothers tongue very gently, it will be very happy with that!
