Hmm... I don't know, but it makes a lot of sense to me the fact that our souls existed before being conceived

The soul is simply the life of the body; Acts 2:31, "...Christ, that his SOUL was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see
corruption". Hell here means grave. Our Spirit is our portion
of the Spirit of God, which was given to us, but God didn't give the Spirit "by measure" to the Son; John 3:34. People
confuse the Spirit and the soul.
I am not a Mormon, but I have wondered about something
that is written in Hebrews 2:14, "Forasmuch then as the
children are PARTAKERS OF FLESH AND BLOOD, he
also himself LIKEWISE took part of the same". Heb 12:9,
"...shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the FATHER
OF SPIRITS, and live?".
John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word"; most will agree
that the Word became flesh and dwelt among men. If the
children are partakers of flesh and blood in the same way
that the Word was partaker, then it isn't impossible that we
were with the Father before we became flesh. Only God
knows some things and we will know when we get to where
he is.
Were we a spiritual being with God ,the Father of spirits, in eternity and then were made flesh, at an appointed time, as was the Word??? Like
I said, this is a question which only God knows the answer. We wont find this answer on YA.

True Christians believe that the person is a "soul"
When God created Adam, He blew into his nostrils the breath of life and "the man came to be a living soul" Genesis 2:7
Also animals are referred to as souls.. Genesis 1:20
Ezekial 18:4 ,20 states that the "soul" {person} that is sinning, he will die!"
In summary, we , the living human being is a SOUL.....nothing invisible resides within us.....just the breath of life which sustains us, when that ceases, we cease to exist as a living soul.

I think that concept was thrown out of 'Christianity' along with reincarnation to make people concentrate on this life and fear death.
No one seems to consider that if eternity is "all" time then it includes the past
so life eternal by definition has to include the past

Every new baby is a new creation. Their souls did not exist before. You live once and you die once and then the judgement.

It just depends on who you talk to really. Some people beleive, some people don't. Now if you're a hard core christian, then you don't beleive in reincarnation, which means you weren't born before your body.
