lol. It's the current home of someone I call the sweetest person I know.
However, I doubt she counts as she's not Texan.
So it looks like Texas is changing. As an ****** leaves (Bush, to the White House), the bad is removed, the good takes its place, and balance is restored.
Gotta love nature's ways, eh?
((((hugs))))
May peace go with you throughout your life.

If we look at Crawford, Texas alone, you might be correct as nothing and no one has been as destructive towards America as the current administration. which is slowly doing away with our rights, freedoms and civil liberties while underfunding virtually all social programs as well as making this country a debtor nation as we pour billions of dollars into a foreign nation as many of our citizens go hungry, lack adequate medical care, are homeless and our schools suffer from lack of funds.
In the old comic strip "Pogo", it was once said, "We have seen the enemy and he is us!" We have seen the leader of a terrorist network that has cost the lives of over 500,000 civilians and more than 3,000 of our own citizens who are serving in this country's military. No outside enemy has been able to do as much destruction as this one person and his gang. His destruction has also been world wide, especially in regards to the esteem this country once rated. He has alienated our former allies and friends and developed more enemies for this country than any one or anything else.
I would not say it was all Texans but there is definitely one what has done everything he can to "single handedly destroy" this once great nation.

I think you're thinking about California and New York...with 86 electoral votes those "morons" (your word) have a far greater influence on the destruction of this country than Texas with its 34 electoral votes.

I'd argue its California and New York that are destroying America. For every dumb right wing politician Texas exports, California and New York export three moronic left wing ideologues.
If we didn't have Texas, there would be no checks and balances against the idiocy found along the coasts...

No. If a single state could destroy what's great about America, then apparently it's not so great, now is it? Things go on in Texas I disagree with. Things go on in Florida that I disagree with. Things go on in a lot places that I disagree with. But one of the great things about America is that we get to disagree.

California gave us Diane Feinstein; Florida gave the Justice Department Janet Reno; and, of course, Arkansas gave us "Slick" Willy "I didn't Have sex with that girl" Clinton. Massachussets gave us the old drunk, Ted Kennedy. And New York gave us Chuck "I want to steal your guns" Schumer. Yup. There certainly is lots of liberal goofiness from all quarters. Maybe America will wake-up and stop sending such morons to D.C. It's never too late.

As a Texan I certainly do vote and if that means that Texas helps to govern this country good for us. Voters equal political power to be used to do the will of the voters. We can't help it if others do not have persons willing to exercise their right to vote. We in Texas take our rights very seriously and are careful to exercise them so we don't lose them.

Historically, it is the nature of people, in the wake of intense conflict, to turn inward with a vengeance.
What is hapening in Texas, as well as with the "Church" is a reaction to flooding from all sides. Reason is finally (and once again) taking center stage in the world (thanks to the internet, media, etc.) and as people are evolving away from an enabling faith, they are growing more enlightened as those old myths seem more and more ridiculous.
We are witnessing the advent of the next age.

Nope. Dallas is as liberal as most other big cities, most of the votes come from the big cities.
What you fail to grasp is that while the social issues of liberalism are spot on, the financial issues of liberalism are horrible. Restrictions on free-trade, reverting back to mercantilism, over-taxation, assuming that government control of money equates to stability. It's just not realistic. When a liberal candidate comes out with a conservative financial platform, he'll have this Atheist's vote.

Hey, Back Off Dude!
Don't mess with Texas!
Remember the Alamo!
And all that other awesome stuff that makes Texans better than you!
(Although I'm happy to disavow Ron Paul, and have no allegiance to a man who doesn't know the difference between APEC and OPEC, and Australia and Austria!)
