It depends on the distance from the seating position to the TV. First measure the TV from top left corner to bottom right corner of the screen. If the TV is 36" the distance from the TV is 2 times to 3 times the 36" which would be 6' to 9'. A 48" TV would be 8' to 12'. I hope this helps.
