sadly, I would have to agree that it copuld do, but only if they are outside of the 'clothing zone' e.g on your neck, face, hands, etc. I know that it should not but I guess, being honest, I would worry about taking advice from a professional person with tattoos all over them. Not very nice of me, but I am trying to be honest.

what is excessive? have you ever thought that not having excessive could hinder your social status if you hang around a certain crowd? i certainly have a lot less tattooed skin than most of my friends. and frankly anybody who doesn't want to be my friend or who thinks less of me because of my tattoos isn't someone who i want to be friends with anyway. i make it a point to befriend people with open minds and attitudes about many things. people who are prejudiced, racist and otherwise descriminatory don't interest me at all.

It depends on who's looking and their existing opinions on tattooing. It's so mainstream in big cities, nobody usually pays much attention to it. The main thing police look for is jailhouse or gang-related work, not bright, colorful skin art. Of course, there are still those who frown. It goes with almost any declaration of individuality. Oh, well...

It's all a matter of personal opinion. I suppose it could, depending on where you live and what social situations you're in. But those of us who have visible tattoos (me included) know what we're getting ourselves into when we get the ink done. And we're proud of the artwork we have. So I doubt that our social status is that important.

I could care less what my "social status" is.
I don't think there should be any degrees of social status period, but especially based on someone's appearance.
I can put on my "fake" look -- wearing a business suit, makeup, wear my hair in a traditional fashion and hide all of my ink and sure, some people will respect me more and treat me better.
But I prefer to put on my "real" look -- no suit, shorts and a psychedelic t-shirt, spike my hair, wear no makeup, show all of my ink and I feel much better about myself. But it is amazing that people will now look down on me, think that I am uneducated and some kind of freak.
Luckily, I don't care what anybody else thinks when they look at me -- they are the people that are ignorant, not me.

I think that they do sadly enough. I have and love tattoos and people defiantly do look at you differently and consider you a bit of a menace to society

depends where youlive and in what society you want to be a part of, if its a group of people who loves tattoos, no you'll be fine, if its anti tattoo people, your not gonna have many friends, although in todays world a lot of people have tattoos, so for the most part you should be fine.

I think tattoos may look cool in areas on the body that are not seen in regular clothing, and when your young and fit.
My worry is, how they will look when you're 40, 50, or 60.... Have you ever seen tattoos on some one who is aging, and is sagging and wrinkled... Gross....
