in my driver's improvement class, the officer said that officers need to be able to estimate within a couple mph, the speed of a speeding car just by looking at it. That's probably how he judged you. Also, take it to court. The fine wont increase if you do. Worst comes to worst, you pay the fine. Ask the judge if you could take a driver's improvement class. It costs the same as the ticket, but the ticket wont be on your record, and you wont get any points. Maybe the cop wont even show up, and you'll win by default, so the ticket gets erased. Also, bring up the mistakes on your ticket, and your side of the story. good luck

No you won't get out of it. He may have had someone else operating a radar and told him how fast you were going. Learn responsibility now. Take responsibility for your actions. Take a driving school to keep the points off your license, and pay the fine required. AND Slow Down!!! Speeding kills too many people.

The only way is to get a lawyer and go to court. By not clocking you on radar or laser gun, the only other options would be timing you between two fixed points or pace you.
minor clerical errors will not get a ticket thrown out, unless he totally messed up your DL number or, location of ticket. Had you someplace other than where the incident occurred.

You have every right to question the "other" in court. Not using a radar gun, I would fight the citation. If you lose you will have to pay courts costs plus the ticket and your insurance will possibly go up. If you win, no ticket, and no increase in insurance. Since your are 16, you will need mom or dad to go with you to court. Be ever mindful of the speed limits, and you will not have problems of getting stopped and getting a ticket.
If you were in third gear, dude you were speeding.

If he said you were going 39mph, you should have asked how you were clocked if you wanted to know. Also, if he didn't write down the price, how do you know how much to pay?
If you were speeding, pay the fine and be done with it. I can't stand it when people get full of themself and try to manipulate their way out of a ticket they deserved. If you were speeding, you shouldn't be able to get out of the ticket, and you can expect to receive resistance from the legal system. Also, if you go to court and you DON'T get out of the ticket, the fine will increase even more.
Take responsibility. You broke the law. You pay the fine. Simple as that. You might be able to get out of WRONGFUL PROSECUTION, but you CANNOT escape justice. You admit you were speeding. That's your answer.

Show up in court and plead not guilty... often they will offer to let you change your plea and withhold adjudication, meaning you pay the fine but no points are given on your license. Often the officer will not show up in court and the ticket will be dismissed. Unless you will lose a day's work by going to court, you really have nothing to lose by pleading not guilty.

No, the ticket can be amended to read correctly. You broke the law, it's time to pay the piper.
