We hear a lot of loaded language here in R&S, and everyone here is guilty of spinning arguments to some extent. Can you do the same in reverse? Can you play devil's advocate to yourself?
My own spin: My worldview is so small that I can't believe in
anything without serious evidence. I miss out on all of the most beautiful things in life because I can't stop myself from overanalyzing every little thing for "proof". On top of that, I'm so full of myself that I don't think anyone else is smart enough to take their word for it!
Your turn. Do your damndest!

I don't believe I can live a moral and good life on my own and so must believe in a higher power that will punish me if I don't. I need a crutch to fall back on when things I can't explain happen. I need to denigrate everyone that doesn't believe as I do and force my beliefs onto others because only my beliefs are true.

Okay, let me give this a shot:
I really have no business calling myself a Heathen. It's a good thing I no longer consider myself Asatru or I'd be in big trouble. I'm non-Folkish, GLBT-friendly, feminist, and worship Loki and the Jotnar. In my hubris I believe that the Gods actually talk to me and take an interest in my life. Also, my beliefs are hopelessly primitive...I believe in many Gods and I believe in land spirits and fairies and magic. No wonder most people laugh at me. I'm a relic and I'm not even 30 yet! At the same time though I tend to be quite a skeptic for someone who believes in Gods and magic and fairies...I tend to question things until I don't see any evidence that can disprove them, and then chalk them up as being one of those Great Mysteries of life the Gods love to hand us. And just how DO I decide those? I'm such a smart girl, ain't I?
That was fun :)

The WORST way to explain my religious beliefs is to tell anyone on here that they "are going to hell because they dont think like I do". That is not our job as Christians to judge, we will be judged as harshly on That Day. All that does is refute the message of HOPE that Jesus Christ brings. That is the worst example of a Christian I could be.

The worst is to assume that all who disagree are insincere and perverse and then to insult everyone while the "explainer' makes a characture of his own beliefs

All my beliefs are is primative man trying to make sense of natural events and creating beings more powerful than himself. These beings are so cruel that they demand sacrifices and are petty when they don't get them, as well as being p***-poor examples of the morals humans are supposed to have.

Hell, I can't even decide what to believe--I'll believe in santa clause if the mood takes me there, I'm probably always delusional and don't even have the wherewithal to pick a delusion and stick with it--Agnostic
