They are considered a Tier-2 TV company (below Sony and Panasonic, but very close to Philips and LG, and certainly above the Vizios). Definitely, a good buy. Most reviewers agree that HP knows how to deliver great color. Plus, HP offers 24/7 service in case anything goes wrong.
Not a bad idea to buy the extended warranty no matter what brand TV you buy.

I would go with LCD or Plasma, but whatever you do, DO NOT BUY a SONY!!
