Because doing that increases divisions and tension between the races...
and diverts our attention from the governments who are failing to provide the things all citizens need!

EG. Much improved living conditions world-wide
i.e. for everybody
(irrespective of country of origin, colour of skin, religion etc).
EG. Good education, good health care, good food, and no shortage of decent homes.

Blaming immigrants and ganging up against them, is a low form of bullying i.e. picking on those least able to defend themselves.

(I feel shocked, and almost ashamed to be British, so many people on Yahoo are blaming immigrants for almost everything that's going wrong).

My "low IQ" can see a way we could improve the world and make that change affordable.
At least I use my brain.
I also have a heart, and I'm happy it's not a cold one.

Not only in Britain but everywhere the problems seem to be the fault of people who have moved in. Not their fault that we don't want to work at what they will do. Not their fault that we born in our countries are not doing what our big brothers and sisters done years ago and emigrate to Australia and America. where surprise surprise we have lots of illegals working and taking up housing and getting the same crap. its everywhere this stupid idea that we are Irish are British are French. Why are we these but because someone decided to make up a border. could easily have decided on other ones look what they done with Africa and the middle east. that could be us you know. I think borders are just a load of crap drawn up to make some money for some rich group in each country. who benefits from nation states surely not the poor. Only the rich really benefit from nationhood. time was when men and women would move around continents to find work and lived in different parts of the world as the weather suited. we may be having to do just that real soon. if the rich keep polluting our earths atmosphere

Well said.

Yes it is an old ploy. But let's not think it is just housing. For a number of YA contributors, everything that is wrong with society is the fault of immigrants and asylum seekers - many don't feel the need to make a distinction between the two categories. Take your pick; shortage of housing for 'native Brits' or inappropriate allocation of council housing, misdirection of benefits from those who need them to those who don't, a preponderance of foreign stores, fading British traditions, lack of pride in the country, kids being held back in class, school overcrowding, corporations relocating call centres abroad and of course any and every social ill that can be read in the pages of the fear and division inducing tabloids.

properly do no longer you already know they are going to be letting a ludicrous form of Bulgarians and Hungarians in to this usa and purely like each and every the different distant places ba$tards they are going to be placed to the front of the council housing lists. we can all pay taxes and that they gets given reward left precise and centre, they gets the income of OUR very stretched nhs provider and their childrens will take in each and every of the area in OUR very stretched colleges, they'll commit crimes and take in area in OUR already overflowing prisons yet whats up, this has been occurring for the surpassed two decades and the authorities have finished no longer something to end it if something they have inspired it, what distinction is yet another 2 international places, yet another million human beings going to make. we are up shiit creek already and not something they do now will resolve the difficulty. you're able to have seen on the television with regard to the segregation between distinctive cultures in this usa- who's doing that? What occurred to "while in rome...." an all that. quickly if no longer already, actual british electorate stands out as the minority of their own usa. Makes me ask your self why our grandads fought interior the conflict in any respect, in hindsight they might aswell surrendered to Hitler and made us all do the goose step! a minimum of he have been in can charge there could be no immigrants!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would blame the government! If you open your door to homeless person and say Welcome, wouldnt he come in and use your kindness? Same about immigrants. You just cant simply open the border and accept everyone, its MAD. If coming here is tough, then only people who really need it will come.

Whats even more mad is giving benefits to people who havnt paid any taxes. Its just encouraging them to come and not work.

They are getting onto the housing waiting list and getting houses quicker than British. Is it fair? Of course, ppl wont like them. But if u were ofered cheap (free) housing, would you say no? So, there you go, blame the government, who gives them something for nothing! NOT FAIR

And a bit more, if it was tougher to get into this country, people would appreciate it more. If you get smthng easy you just dont care about it.

The government can hardly be blamed for not being able to provide ALL citizens with EVERYTHING they need.

Surely it is difficult enough for them to keep up with the vast number of one parent families in this country let alone immigrants who decide that we are an "easy touch".

Good education and health care comes at a very high price, generally paid for by the tax paying public who can be bothered to get off their back-sides and work.

Unlike the writer , I am proud to be ENGLISH, and wish to carry on being so. If you are so ashamed, try living somewhere other than the UK and see what that's like!!

It's questions like this that make me think we need a separate forum for the different countries.

But I will say one thing that is applicable to both countries, the problem isn't the immigrants so much as it is the numbers of them coming in at one time. (too many, too fast)

Yes it is but like many old ploys it has a ring of truth even if it is not true. I think that the housing shortage is caused more by more and more people living on their own

its going to be a case of "suffer now and let your children reap the rewards" but my parents are suffering, i'm suffering too. i cant provide for my parents in their old age and i should be able to do it but i cant. oh but the migrants can send home money to theirs. the chinese the pakistanis the indians the russians the croats the belgians, yes i even blame it on the belgians they all do it. so why cant i send a few quid to my silver haired mum from my penthouse suite in monaco.

Good to see you don't read the Daily Express/Mail. Many of the answerers on here seem to forget that this country was founded on immigration many generations ago anyway!

Well yes, it is an old ploy.

You'll see old ploys brought out and dusted off quite frequently in the immigration debate, because no-one's thought of any new ones.
