The poor guy came back from Iraq with one arm, missing the top of his skull and having no face and blind.

No, It wasn't covered by any of the "mainstream media" for one simple reason. In an era where we must avoid disturbing photos or video footage which might upset our "pampered little darlings" they decided not to mention Ty's story. It's O.K to show things blowing up in Iraq, but don't show anyone who survives it, unless he's a cleaned-up amputee with no facial disfigurements. Same thing happened with respect to the Air Force Captain who was badly burned after he rushed into the burning Pentagon on September 11, 2001 and brought people to safety. They did cover the President visiting this man in the hospital and did mention that he saluted the President with his left arm, despite the pain it caused him. Yet, they did leave out one important fact that could have averted a lot of post-attack, unfocused hatred. This man is a Muslim!

No, evidently not. It seems to have been covered mostly in online publications and blogs.

Covering it in meanstream media would either
- Discredit your political stance
- Not leave enough room for other similar stories

Good to see his girlfriend still married him
