Are the other paintings listed on your website made by the same artist? I like the "Tree of Self fulfilling Fears".

The painting you are indicating, I can only give my opinion. It seems flat, no depth. The drips along the edges look almost like they could be a mistake.

Also, it may be an amazing painting...in person. Art can lose alot in photographs.

Hi - first, this is a fairly expressionist painting, so you might want to sell its points as something that is emotionally evocative. I wouldn't buy it myself based on the description you give --- "getting rid of the evidence" of a bad time in your life sounds like passing on bad juju. The image certainly communicates that --- which might make it a tad bit too depressing for me to hang on my wall.

It's an interesting glyph, making more emotional impact than showing technical skill, but your skill isn't bad either.

Keep on painting and good luck with everything.

Your sales pitch could use some work. You make it sound like you're selling it because you hate it. That's not going to make people fight to buy it from you. Talk it up! Put on your writer's hat and come up with something a bit more remote and mysterious. A bigger picture would also be good.

The Internet hasn't been good for most artists, I'm afraid. You hear of one or another artists who manage to sell their work, but mostly not. Try sidewalk sales, art and crafts shows, and art galleries. You are likely to make more sales in those venues.

First of all, don't listen to anyone else. If you like your color scheme, stick with it. Your painting is very nice (I couldn't do any shading like that to save my life), but eBay probably isn't the best place for this. You might try Etsy (http://www.etsy.com) or some other art market.

well the painting is well done. it is a drearier type of painting of course, so maybe it will be a harder genre to sell. i myself have had no luck selling art on ebay though, and i do pet portraits. even if they did sell, it wasnt anywheres near worth my time and effort! maybe you could add to your description/put a better description up. sometimes this helps.

Ebay isn't a good venue for selling amateur artwork. I don't know of any place that is good, but I know that ebay is bad for this kind of thing.

The painting is nice though.

I would choose brighter colors, instead of gray and black. I would also add some other things in the painting. But it is nicely done, in my opinion.

It is a wonderful painting, very well done, but maybe next time you could add a bit of color? I mean, it's a very good painting but it's a bit gloomy....Don't you think?
