Do you really believe dry food cleans dogs teeth? If so, then why do 80% of dogs have bad teeth by the time they are 3 years old?
It kills me to see people telling everyone that kibble helps keep dogs teeth clean. It doesn't work that way anymore than crunchy cookies keep our teeth cleaned.

You are so correct. Also canned food does not cause tooth issues either.
One big thing on tooth problems is genetics..there are several breeds that are predisposed to tooth issues...Yorkies, Poodles (all sizes), Maltese, Shih Tzu's, Bulldogs, Shelties just to name a few..

It doesn't do the whole job, that is why you need to brush their teeth as well, but hard kibble does help scrape some of the junk off of their teeth, just like chewing bones does.
It isn't a fix all, but it does help.

To a degree, yes it does help. However, without brushing their teeth, yes they could very well end up with poor gums and teeth issue.
My oldest male dobe is 13, and has all but 2 of his teeth. He gets dry kibble and his teeth are brushed every week!

you've got me- our mastiff barely even chews his kibble- he is only 1, and already had his teeth cleaned and polished when he was knocked out for another surgical procedure. I have gotten him the super size greenie chew bones, i think he swallows them nearly whole. I'm sure the kibble is better than straight canned food, but i don't see much dental benefit.

I truly do- it doesn't do it perfectly which is why I brush his teeth too- but same as a nylabone, breaking apart the kibble pushes some plaque off the dog's teeth.
Cookies have SUGAR in them- dog food does not.

i don't think it cleans their teeth, but i don't think it harms them either.
